Hey im having trouble adding a mod to my game, can you tell me exactly what folder i should put the mod into, how to put the mod into it ( what type of file), Theres seems to be no good explanation on the internet so, can you give me a lil step by step that isnt like, Open, Copy, Play, Go to-

lil more in depth if you dont mind >.<

The copy I downloaded at least had them as BIN files, most odd.

I think he uses Entrenchment, thats right Desamater, Im watching you...

You are not wrong, we didn't have enough entries though, so it was cancelled.  I believe Thoumsin was thinking of trying again later.

Aaah, that'd be why I couldn't find it.

Almost a pity; I was tempted to enter now that I'd come up with an actual idea.

Will have to hunt down a copy of Entrenchment some other way, I suppose. Anyone spare a nickel?

There is a other way... since one entrenchment version remain from the cancelled competition... go to the 7DS forum and PM me your contact information like explain at http://sri-corp.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1259.0 to fileosoft ( it me )... like for soasertus, it will be request the following from you : now, you are obligate to pray our God ( Danman ) a minimum of one time in the week... If by chance, God grant you to win a big lottery price, don't forget the donate button on Danman game... other lost soul are waiting entrenchment too...

 

Seriously, we will need beta tester for the 2.5 soon... more you are, more fast 2.5 will be ready... now, 6 version of entrenchment are already given ( already counting ReiverTA )... once the beta periode will start, 10 more will be given to beta tester... the only obligation for these guy who receive entrenchment for free will be to game a lot with the 7DS 2.5 beta and report any bug/problem they found...

 

By the way ReiverTA, if you have "a actual idea",  why not share it on the 7DS forum... it is very possible that someone in the team will have interest in your idea... only difference with a competition is that you will have receive the "prize" before starting "work" ... any help, idea or other thing is always welcome...

DANMAN, you are exactly like me. Good job on the Mod & being here to lend a hand. There aren't many who do things unselfishly these days, everyone wants something. I give back to the community for the same reasons. I been gaming so long I forgot when I started or maybe I'd rather not admit it. (1976 my first video game to play and love ping pong, in bar rooms, I kicked the snot out of the drunks leave with a pocket full of money) Bought my first computer to play Zork in 1980, on the Atari 400 computer.

Oddly, Star Control was my favorite game too, I wish they would remake it or come up with another one lile it. I played them all, Star Control 1-3. Played SC 1 on my Atari 32 bit 1040 STE though back in hmm, early 90 or late 80's dont remember now.

I offer our file services for you to use or have a mirror, save you cash on bandwidth. lol Keep on doing what you do, amazing work from what I saw. DANMAN,

You started off merging mods to enhance the overall sins experience.

As a modder, how difficult was it to accomplish a working "one" mod from various other smaller mods (like Uzii's mod and some of your own).

Also, more of a question for myself, how exactly do you go about doing such, I have tried merging Major Stress' Mod (SoA2) and the Urban Expansion Mod, but I continue to have game crashes.

I don't know about DANMAN, but personally I find the Compare... option in ConTEXT text editor mighty helpful.

Usually right about the point I'm trying to figure how two files differ, of course.

Nope, only capital ships. The game tends to treat capships, frigates and strike craft in fundamentally different ways.

Anyone know how to run sins in a debug mode?  I am in the process of making my mod entrechment compatible and it would really help...

You need the developer .EXE's, which the Sins devs have not seen fit to provide for us.

Danman and/or other knowledgable folk,

I have created a model using Softimage XSI, but I don't know what's needed to allocate hard points to it. Could someone please enlighten me on how this is done.

If you download the mod tools it comes with a guide for weapons points, ability points, engine points, and more.

be aware that the tutorial are not updated since the original sins... by example, now, the alpha channel from the cl map is inverted with the red channel of the da map...
