When will we see the light... I mean with ObjectDock 2?

It's been more than a year since I acquired ObjectDock plus (followed by a Object Desktop Ultimate & Wincustomize subscription a few months later)... I have seen great updates for many ObjectDesktop apss to come in the last few months, even a great new freebie as Fences.... but saddly enough Object Dock... which is what I really love (I even jump into development again)... has been a very different story.

Months has come by... and no single update to ObjectDock has seen the light, not a beta, no nothing. I have been reading the forums regularly on updates to upcoming releases but there is nothing clear at all. Will ObjectDock will ever be updated? Will version 2.0 really come to us? Who knows...

It would be great if anyone from Stardock would tell us the real story... In the mean time, I'll keep waiting.

ObjectDock is not part of Object Desktop.  Anyone who preorders OD 2.0 will have the option to download the beta as with most apps we put out.

Really? Are you sure it never came with it? I don't remember ever paying for it, but it's sitting in here as OD Plus.

I did find an old email receipt for ObjectBar, maybe it was upgraded from that. Oh well, I'll pay for the upgrade. I definitely like the Dock.

Ok...so will current users of OD+ get access to the beta without having to pre-order? How will that work with getting the new version?

Apparently no Bebi, the upgrade costs $10 for current OD+ customers.

will OD+ 2.0 work on x64?

More importantly, will it be fully functional in x64?

Or will this be another product with half the options disabled in 64-bit operating systems?

Wrong thread.

ObjectDock Plus has never been a part of Object Desktop, it's two different products.

I don't.

Doc...if you look at the date of the original post, this one was started last March. Smaky brought it back from the dead with a "is there an update?" response.

This is the only thread about the be all and end all killer app of the century - nay, eon OD2.0? I think not.

I'm sick and tired of this boring crap. Wait. Boring, repetitive, aggravating, recurring, chronic crap which is posted roughly once to twice a week, ad nauseum.

I'm sick of seeing it here at all.

Yeah..."Then don't click on it"...right Philly?

Wrong. This OD 2: when...etc. should generate an automated response. Neil and everyone else including you and I has answered the obnoxious question fifteen umpteen times initially politely, but now?

I like Karen, but she (and you) missed my point. So again:

These posts about OD2 should generate an automatic response or be filtered by Moderation and answered in a pm/email.

Get it?

You're wrong. The OP has every right to ask about the status. It's not like he's asking the same thing every day. He was politely asking for an update to a question he asked many months ago.

You're the one who's whining. If you're sick of seeing these posts, don't look. It doesn't give you the right to censor others, especially paying customers. Some of us don't live on the forums.

and I feel that happens quite to often around here...

but I am tired of hearing about it... Stardock should just make up a date already, say Dec 17th 2013 might be nice... lol

Object Dock 2.0 Official Release date Dec, 17 2013 Ill see all you there, and if it comes out early... well that will be a nice little gift to us all.

Making a post to your disatisfaction is one thing.. to prattle on for months in multiple posts allover the place, gets to be old. One is considered a disatisfied customer the other tends to often be looked upon in a negative light. Especially if overly vocal and excessive complaining of a few becomes more of a public nuisance.

Sure I have been disapointed that OD had not gotten a lot of love lately, but occasionally expressing my dissatisfaction with someting is quite a bit different than goin on and on and on and on,making an obsession out of it. Theres this phrase about beating a dead horse.....

I also Do know that when it is released it will most likely be well worth the wait. The SD crew has yet to fail to go above my expectations on a prog update.

I think you're just aren't showing any understanding. OD2, to some people, is like the public option for healthcare to us. Would I ever quit pestering my elected officials on this? NO WAY! You know what they say about the squeaky wheel...and this wheel has been squeaking for over a year.

I know you're thinking (and Stardock's thinking) is it will be ready, when it's ready....but the converse of that is the squeaking will stop when the grease is applied.

The difference is, with the governemt you have a larger right and duty to request change for the betterment of society, it will be answered/ honored if the majority agree, but then you pay large sums of cash weekly to the government. so you should expect a decent say in it's use.... On the other hand for a mere $20 I don't think anyone should have to put up with some of the agrivated attitudes I've seen in some of the posts. As well as this is a private company not a public institution that we can demand action from. Yes folks can express thier disatisfactin.. but on the same token $20 dont buy folks the freedom to abuse or harass.

Can someone official please answer this question ? I like to use Paypal and I will pay for the beta and the 2.x builds afterwards, but only when it is there, I won't pay for a non-existent product.

Stardock almost always gives access to betas without having to preorder the beta itself.  Just preorder the 2.0 and you will more than likely have access to the betas.  I won't order until the betas are available, that's for sure.  But it will be worth it.

I preordered version 2 and don't have access to the beta just an email with the order number, date and charge!?

I haven't had the opportunity to place my order yet, but I strongly suspect this is because the beta is not yet available.

No one's "censoring" anyone....I don't have access to those buttons "censuring" might come closer...but I am simply saying enough of the repetitive, whining posts.

If someone else has said substantially the same thing, spare us!

You are correct.

Yea but I bet SD has taken the money and is using it.

Sorry, but history taught us that things are not taken care of, if only some people complain about it. If You want to go on living in Your own rose-red world and not want to be 'afflicted' by 'whining' people wording their discontend with the manner some things are handled at Stardock, simply keep away from the thread, simple as that.

Stardock lives good from beta testing customers wording their problems with their software (which is IMHO no bad thing at all, don't get me wrong there) and for that I think they have all rights to word criticism also.

Stardock does not charge your credit card for the pre-order until it becomes availible for download.

Yep...OD2+ is roughly on the order of an event like The American or French Revolution. Those folks had significant complaints. You are whining about not getting your toy exactly how and when you want it...oh yeah, it has to be perfect and have everything you want in it and preferably free.

You note the difference in scale? When are you organizing the million man march on Stardock?  o_O

You are totally missing my point (not to speak of You didn't read what I wrote fully), but so be it. You just can't deny people to express their opinion, if it fits Yours or not. And I personally am all fed of people called 'whiners' too soon here when they are expressing constructive criticism. MAYBE some people don't do that to bash Stardock but to actually show how they care ? If that is not desired anymore here, where have we come to ? All praising, no criticism allowed ?

no criticism allowed ?

criticism is allowed as long as you are directing it at the person who dared to moan in the first place. ;P

I still don't get what is wrong with people. You are pre-ordering software, not paying to use a beta. If you don't want to pre-order, then wait for the full release. What could be simpler.

But then it's rather pointless telling people to use some brains where none exist...
