I've not played the game yet, so how is it to play Rook? His background story is cool, and I like his character design.

:) On the bright side Stardocks and the game Demigod atleast get recognition. Some hater/dota addict  always decides to play the game despite hating it without playing it and ends up loving it. Same thing with the Halo series for example. Shitload of peope hate Halo, but when they play it they end up loving it.

List pretty much sums up what we can expect. 

 

I will add this though, #15 is going to dwarf all other complaints, and rightfully so, since they will mostly be legitimate.

I haven't had a chance to play the new 3E, so that may help, but at this point I will be amazed if they've got the connection issues worked out for the majority of us by launch.

Oh, as to cheating/hacking, outside of abusing glitches it should be a non-issue.  Demigod benefits the same way Supcom did.  Any hack that is not a simple UI change (think Chirmaya's mods) will cause a desync to occur.  So the worst debate we should have is how unfair it is for me to run a UI mod showing my teammates mana bar.

:) Because we are talking about the dota community, that is just how they are. Icefrog has done a good job on the map and the one who contributes the least is the community. He gets more complains because of peoples personal imbalanced thoughts to the map than an actual thank you.

But when it comes to other games they immediately raid a forums, literly raid a forums and pretend like they have done so much for dota.

LOL, so to suggest that somebody wouldn't like this game is trolling?

My post included both people who will love the game and people who will be somewhat disappointed by it.

 

This is trolling?  Please.  All I can say is that there's not much hope for the community of this game post-release if the trend continues where anybody who is not totally satisfied (or even suggests that a reasonable person might not be satisfied) is shot down and treated like a "troll."

Added.  You'll note that I'm taking most specific references out of the list, just because for every DoTA reference there will be one from DOW2, Left for Dead, or Viva Pinata. (that last one might be a stretch...)

Maybe we should put in a subthread - "[x poster] is a troller mctrollerson.  Troll."

I keed I keed, but guys let's not turn this thread into any of the threads it's about ;)
