Or at least... They want you to think it is spring.

*goes off on long conspiracy theory ending with 'and that is the real reason why Roanoke was abandoned.'*

Or maybe... they mean Australian spring :X

I'll be happy if they give us some info about those alphas they'll be playing...

Demigod's beta has wore me out with the "This game will be an utter failure if Thor's Hammer's slow effect isn't reduced to 4% instead of 5%!!!111" type of attitude way too many testers have devolved into.  I'm hoping to see and partake in more constructive discussions without all the foaming at the mouth rage in Elemental's beta.

I am eager to begin, but I wouldn't expect anything to start until DG is out the door.

Has the Alpha been built yet?  Last I heard it was pushed back because of Demigod, which doesn't bode good things for a June Open Beta. :(

Some people think that they know more than what they really know and/or that their opinion'll only be taken seriously by using menaces of epic failure if what they say isn't done. Also, some people'll always complain no matter what.:moo:

They weren't saving their melodrama for invincible characters?  I threatened to break an NDA if something wasn't fixed before release once, but that was a leader character in a rts/rpg hybrid that could kill everything, including the enemy leader, in one hit.

With percentile health return from vampirism for the full 10k damage it was dishing out against 30 hitpoint infantry. :(

ITS MICHIGAN! IT DONT FEEL LIKE SPRING GRRRRRRR! XO But on a more serious note... Beta test... NOW!

*looking around*

Oookaayyy...One or the other flower blooming... bugs buzzing... the beta would be fine for me...

But seriously: I'd be surprised if they have the time to start beta testing. Stardock and GPG will be busy preparing demigod for launch...

The beta will probably be released June 18th or something :P

I hope it will be soon. I let my MMORPG subscription lapse yesterday so I would have tons of free time for beta testing this beast. No worries though, I just got SOASE and am having a good time with it. It will keep me entertained for a few weeks if need be. :cylon:

And no it wasn't WoW. x_x

They've said LATE spring already...

Hey I know they said late spring but hey I can CRY ALL I WANT!

Of course they said late spring.  we can still have a little bit of fun.

it comes when it comes.

well, I know from experiance on other sites.    Complaigning about it doesn't help.  In fact it makes it worse.   what it does is makes people less likely to have any kind of public dates and encourages private sessions for releases.   So many fan-communities have alienated the creators just because of demands for releases and such.   I mean look at web-comics and such.   At least many of them have a good humor about it, some really don't.

The only date thay said was 'by june'.   Its not june yet, and that would be the end of spring.   So I say lets not say anything until then.    If they get it done earlier, good news for us!   If not, *shrug*   we'll have it when its ready.

We know that complaining doesn't help. We're doing it as self-help therapy for ourselves.

Shoo, landi. Shoo! :P

The Omnipreasent Ohio Snow has turned into the Omnipreasent Ohio Sleet, my mother is squirting Roundup on the crabgrass that used to be our yard, I'm sneezing large portions of my cereberal contents out every five minutes... it's spring, alright. In any event, I would rather have a good beta than a punctual beta. For me, a good game is much more important than a rapid release. Unless there are expansion packs.

Um, the whole idea of a beta is that it probably isn't good yet (playable of course but bugs and imbalances will occur) and that we join hands to make it good. If you want a well-rounded game you should wait for the release in 2010 :)

True. Just so they don't rush to get everything in by the "due date" and, say, leave out something so that it is not perfected in the final...

Late spring isn't far away! I hurried to pre-order when I realised that! :D

I hope SD can make their June Beta promise.  The Alpha took longer to put together than they anticipated (due in large part to Demigod), but I'm hopeful at least a scaled down version of a portion of the game can be released for feedback to SD.

With only a little over 2 months left before the first beta, it'd be great to see more dev diaries come forward to talk about the back story, game mechanics, the game engine, modding, content creation, heroes, the AI, etc.

... The Alpha took longer to put together than they anticipated ....

Beg pardon, but what "The Alpha?" Did you just break cover on being a member of a stealth pre-public-beta crowd or are you referring to the 'internal alpha' comments from dev land?

I was referring to the SD internal alpha.  I'm assuming the first real non-SD exposure will be in the Beta, which is now less than 3 months away!
