Grumpy Pants

When I woke up this morning,
I couldn't find my happy trousers so
I had to put on my grumpy pants instead.
I didn't want to put them on,
They're scratchy and itchy
And make me cranky.

When I got to my desk,
The first that happened is I was attacked,
Mercilessly and ruthlessly, by work.
It didn't let up until I finished it off
With a couple of phones calls,
And judicious use of a red pen.

However, my pants were still grumpy
as was my grumbling stomach.
My morning coffee wouldn't let up
And I had an altercation
With a phone call
That had some severe hang-ups.

But then I thought of you,
As I'd left you,
Lying on your pilates mat,
Legs scrunched up and arms stretched out.
Suddenly, my pants felt better
If a little tighter.

I like this Maso.

Maybe its the romantic in me, but when you turn your poetry into a manifesto of devotion to your other half, I just love that.

Good job.

Tonya, I am a romantic too.  More often than not, my poetry ends up being, in some way, about my other half.  It is because she continues to inspire me.  Thanks for reading and glad you enjoyed this one.

Roy, thanks mate.  And I'm pleased I was able to give you a laugh.

Ditto.

When I read about the love you have for your better half it makes me love my better half even more.

I liked the last line, too.
