Candidates not showing up...

I opened the *.CANDIDATES file and see a long list of candidates. However, my candidate selection is very limited when I play the game. One of the candidates that I'd like to play with is Wesley Clark. I can't seem to find him on my candidate list from within the game. However, If I choose a Republican candidate like Arnold Schwarzenegger, the computer plays against me with Clark. It doesn't make any sense to me. I also can't play with Lincoln, Kennedy, or any of the old candidates that I see within the *.CANDIDATES file. Any ideas?

Some of the candidates you mentioned are locked in the campaign mode. When you defeat that candidate, you are able to play it.

There are plenty of candidates on here that can be downloaded, including a thread that I started. Do not change the core candidates file though, or you will have trouble playing some aspects of the game.
