Pantheon: How can I tell if it's a bot?

So I finally tried Demigod 3B today.  I'm really enjoying the Pantheon feature, however I've got a few questions:

-How can I tell who's a bot and who's not?  Are bots even allowed in Pantheon?  Is everyone a bot?

-Does chat work, or have I just been talking to myself/bots?

-Do the ping meters work, or am I an idiot for not taking 0ms's across the board as "everyone's a bot?"

Some of the player names suggest they aren't bots but I can't be sure.  Maybe they're getting kicked before the match starts and the AI is taking over for them?

Click on the score at the top.  If you see 0ms ping and 0 sim speed, then they are a bot/AI.

So far, most pantheon games are all computer players.

It is definitely all bots in Pantheon for me.

My guess is that the broken network code (wich doesn't allow me to join any custom games either) is the culprit.

It propably starts the game, realizes it can't connect to any players... and replaces all of them with AI.

It's back to waiting for the next patch i guess.

i was wondering, what is the sim speed? the speed of the game depending of your hardware?

Sim speed is the speed of all the calculations needed for 1 step (or tick) in the game world (which is 1/100 seconds in many games, not sure about demigod) the value is the number of steps that could be calculated in the time for 1 step. So the game could run 8 times faster if you're sim speed is 8.

Sim speed refers to the internal game world. The representation of this world is separated and can be done by another processor.

I'm seeing a strange trend in Pantheon where I'm pretty sure all the players are AI since they have 0 ping but one of them will display a sim speed.  Anyone else seen this?

Yeah, I see this all the time.  All 0ms ping, the top one has 7-8 sim speed though.

There really, really, really needs to be a clear distinction as to whether something's a bot or not.  Like a different colored name.

There should also be an option in Pantheon for "Human players only."  That is, instead of waiting ten seconds and throwing me in a game with five bots when you can't find anyone, how about we just wait til we have a full game of human players instead?

It's pretty boring to go 37-0 every match because of the braindead* AI.

*I assume it's on Easy or Normal for Pantheon, so to be fair, it's supposed to be braindead.

You can check for sure if someone is a bot or not by pressing ctrl+~ to open the console, then typing in ren_shownetworkstats.  Real people will have ping and everything and AI's will be missing stuff/have 0/etc.  Type ren_shownetworkstats again to remove the window, and press ctrl+~ again to hide the console.

I'm not sure that Gabberkooij's explanation of sim speed is entirely right.  It is indeed the speed that the game calculations are/can be made, but the numbers are a little off :P.  In Supcom at least, +3 to +4 was about twice as fast as normal speed (normal speed is 0) and his explanation doesn't explain what +1 and -1 are.

If there's no lag, you're playing with bots.  Bank on it.  If you're still not sure, talk in chat.  If nobody responds, you can be confident that nobody's really there to listen.

if when red health they retreat to stand with back to you in front of a tower but still inside ranged demigod attack outside of tower range, they are bots.
