as far as I know there is no limit to how many planets or stars you can have in galaxy forge. (but i could be wrong)

you need to figure out how many planets your machine can handle without having extreeme lag. If you can play huge random maps with no lags you might start trying to make maps with 100+ planets.

if you have way too many planets it seems like autocast wont work on your ships.

my system... well, it also depends on graphic card too.........

my system, that is as far as i have gone into a game... 600 planets in 12 systems...

i've though about doing a new 1200 planet map since i have a new gtx 260...

most i've taken control of is about 530 planets. but very laggy... which is why u turn off cargo ship icons.

well to be honest this is one of those games where it varries MAJORLY on your system specs. to go anywhere above 100 planets id suggest havign a really good dule core with 4 gigs of ram and a really good vid card. for anything above 150 planets id suggest a good quad core with 8-16 gigs of ram with vista (a version that supports over 4 gigs of ram, such as ultimate), and a good vid card, if you can afford it, two good vid cards with Crossfire or SLI.

For me i can get to 150 planets with only 2 gigs of ram, and a single core processor 3ghz and a bad video card with a medium amount of lag, and im using vista.

But the game only runs on 1 core, besides texturing on the 2nd core, If not mistaken, and its not 64bit supportive, No?
