Please Suggest a Netbook/Ultra-portable Laptop.

Hi friends,

I am looking for an ultra-portable laptop with following minimum specs:

Cpu: 1Ghz

Display Resolution: 1200x800 or 1024x768

Memory: 1GB/upgradeable to 2GB.

Any camera and blutooth...

Everything else doesn't matter much...

I could search a few...

Sony Vaio P

Compaq CQ20

HP Mini- Note - But what is its max display resolution?

Dell Inspiron Mini 12- Can I add more memory? perhaps no but it looks good.

MSI VR220

I am confused... Any Suggestions?

Which offers more value?

Thanks

Would say you are looking for a laptop... not a netbook i dont know about the latest in netbooks but just some months back there was no netbook with  that high res panel.

Concerning netbooks....

But not the hp mini 2133 it comes with a VIA C7 and thats no good.

The Hp mini 1000 seems better.. but dont have video out.

I would go for anything with a Atom n270 or if anything with a Via Nano have come take that.

Then you would have to choose between a small SSD or a regular but with much more space hdd.

The msi wind u120 or the samsung nc10 looks really good :)

Best with netbooks is to go and feel them at some store...

And ofc you cant go wrong with a EeePC later models ;)

You might say I am looking for laptop but its screen should not be larger than 12 inches. I can't feel so many netbooks because there are only few of them available in local market. And before going there some research and comparson of specs and price is necessary...

Meanwhile I got one from HCL It has everything which I am looking for. Dell Mini 12 and MSI VR220 are also good.

the VR220 is probably the "stronger" of the 2 sporting a dualcore cpu.

Non of these 2 are true "netbooks" but you can say the dell is a overgrown netbook and by that it walks away from the essence of what a netbook is and thats ultraportable and have wandered into the laptop realm.. and here its weak.

So if its between those 2 go for the VR220....

Why not an EEE PC? For the price they can't be beaten.

Edit: My bad, didn't realize voidcore already mentioned them.

Dell Inspiron Mini 12- Can I add more memory? perhaps no but it looks good.

Mini 12's resolution is 1280 x 800 on a 12.1" screen. Hard drive choices, 60 or 80 GB, are PATA drives at 4200 rpm. And the part you wouldn't like...Max memory is 1 GB onboard (integrated) RAM, so no upgrading there. :S
