Please Help Me-I love this game but it wud be better if i understood some things

I love Political MAchine. It is fun and addictive. But I need to know how to play online. I have seen posts about this, but I cannot understand them. You mite call me computer retarded. I dont know how to adjust my router or firewall or know wat sp2 is or anything like that. Can someone pleese SIMPLY explain how I can use multiplayer, because it is not working. I go to the screen and I am the only one there. Pleeese respond. Also, my campaign managare's name is pat Smith, and it set up like this defaultly. How do I change it? Thanx.

Okay I mite get this. dO ANY OF YOU HAVE aol 9.0 oPTIMIZED? iF so, then you must know about Port Magic. If I use Port Magic, and it says" allow "polticalmachine.exe" to connect to the internet"?, and i say YES, will multiplayer work?

I have AOL 9.0 Optimized and I do not use Port Magic, in fact I have no idea what that is. Why don't you just instead open up Internet Explorer after you log into AOL and just use Internet Explorer, then it should work.

Re: Changing campaign manager's name:

Go to "C:\program files\ubisoft\stardock\polmachine\data" (off the top of my head) and find the file called "prefs". The seventh line down you should see the entry "PlayerName=Pat Smith". Simply change it, save the file, and you should be on your way.

make sure you have all the latest patches, though (to 1.02 right now)
