OMG guess what a Minor did.

I know there have been a few posts in the past about wanting the minors to do more. Well last night one of the minors... sit down...  one of the minors successfully invaded and took a planet from the Krynn. They built the transport themsevles, sent it a decent distance across the map to un undefended planet (thanks to me) and BOOM they got their little emblem on a third planet; the second being one they colonized early on.

Of course it helped that they were the beneficiaries of the event that gave them all of the techs of a major race. STILL can't get them to trade them, no matter what the event text says.

So a minor race invaded a major. LMAO. how embarassing.

I had a minor race try to invade me once. It was startling. I've also seen them colonize once or twice. I guess the AI gets confused sometimes.

That's cool to have a minor invade.  I haven't seen that one yet.  It would be nice to be able to get all minors to be as powerful and aggressive as the majors at the outset of the game.  It would be like playing against 17 majors.  :)

A couple of games ago I had a Minor actually attack and destroy the Drengin.  They then had a total of four planets.  By the time I made it over there they were at war with another neighboring major empire.   I didn't give them any technology or ships and by all accounts they did this totally on their own.

What difficult level was that on? Mine was suicidal.

Masochistic.  I should mention, however, that this was TA.

I also had a minor change the entire outcome of a game for me. Their homeplanet was like a class 17 or something crazy like that and they came on fairly early on in the game. At one point when there were only 4 races left i decided to go all out and try to get a military victory. I did not have the larger empire, and i had only a modest army. It started out well as i puched deeper and deeper into altarian territory, but eventually the front stabilized. Until one day five fleets (minor race fleets) stacked to the logistical nines appear out of nowhere and the delicate balance of forces that existed was shattered ina  matter of three or four turns. My fleets were destroyed and i didnt have enough ships pumping out fast enough to replace them. The Altarians regained the upper hand and dealt me a sever correction.
