What To Expect From Entrenchment?

So... I've played standard Sins a bit, nothing crazy-like though, mostly have stuck with TEC... and I'm curious about Entrenchment.

For those of you who've played the Beta and have it now, in a short paragraph, what is different from standard Sins? How does the game(play) change? What is added/removed? Will a non-hardcore gamer that plays maybe one Sins map a week enjoy it?

You could get all this information already if you read through the Beta Feedback forums. In short Starbases are added, Mines, and anti-structure frigates for TEC and Advent.  Defense facilities are also improved with enw abilities that can be researched in the new tech tree for each faction.

Basically, you can now have a "Front Lines".  With a starbase ($3000 minimum price)  you can make it very difficult (not impossible) for an opponent to reach you back planets.  This also allows you to battle on multiple fronts (as you now don't have to worry so much about having a fleet on every front, and protecting all your interior planets too).  The Starbases have all sorts of upgrades and there's all sorts of upgrades for Hangers and Turrets too.

And thanks to those frontlines, chokepoint planets become a lot more valuable as areas to prevent incursion into your Empire.  The addition of mines, plus the boosts to defensive structures, means it takes a lot more planning to grab a system than previously.
