Will Bush be so stupid to invade Iran, wich will be very hard since the country is two times larger then Iraq. And probally will only look at the Pacific, because China is emerging as a super power, totally ignoring Europe.

China is emerging as a power, but don't forget unlike Russia. China has enomous economic tide with USA. We are their number one trade partner. In short, they are growing because of us. One could even say US is feeding China now. China will never be quite like USSR.

First of, you need to understand I am a republican. Second, to be frank, the answer to your question is: No.

I think that if George Bush set off some bombs in our country and blew up a couple military bases then the Repubs would be screwed in '08. Not gonna happen.

NJforever,

Seriously, democrat will have a very hard time winning 2008 if they don't understand how they lost 2004. You see, it is more than just George Bush. It is more than presidency. Democrats have lost Senate, House, Governorship... and yet most of the Democrats do not do any soul searching. They simply said Bush stole the election -- just look at the posts here. When George H. W. Bush and Bob Dole lost their elections, the republicans didn't said anything like that. They regrouped and realigned the party. For example, republicans are increasing focus on hispanic concerns because Republican realize they constitute a growing population. Guess what, repubicans have been getting more and more votes from hispanic voters for the last 8 yeas.

I have honesty yet to see the Democrat party do a good re-evaluation on themselves. They seem to be blind for the last 8 years. The South is growing faster than any part of the country and you should notice the increase of electoral college vote from the south this year. The democrats simply ignoring the south. They simply call southerners stupid -- again just look at the posts here. When Repubican lost 1992 and 1996, we didn't call the northerners stupid. We look at our problems and address those.

So, how can democrats win 2008 if they just complain and complain?

Bush can't invade Iran in the next because in 2008 we will still not have control in Iraq. The deficit will be massive, and the interest on the debt will eat away at the economy. And George is going to end his 2nd term by campaigning for his brother Jeb.

Maybe there was something you didn't see in the post or the second post I made. IT WAS A JOKE. However, I must adress your saying Democrats just call southerners stupid. You, sir, are looking at the extremists that I notice are a majority here. Real Democrats do not call southerners stupid. We do need to re-adjust but do not take the opinions of extremists and tell me those are shared by every democrat.

I agree with you that most Democrats do not call southerners stupid. But there is a good chunk of them do. Do you agree there are more Democrats who think southerners are stupid, than Republicans think northerners are stupid? If the answer is yes, then there is still a problem for your party? I think the democrat party need to chose a better candidate. Like this election, I think they should have pick Liberaman. I would have vote for Liberaman over Bush. Yet, Liberaman was no where close to be nominated. The Democrats end up between Dean and Kerry. I strongly believe your party would have nominated Dean has he not given his "I have a Scream" speech.

Or write off those extreme extremists who are not even Democrat in real life, like Michael Moore, a complete socialist if not a communist. I think Democrats in the hill might have hurt themselves alot by assoicating them with Michael Moore. Do you remember that Democratic congressman and senator made a trip to the film. Let me quote a line from George F. Will from Washingtonpost. George is a conservative writer, but one thing to take notice is that Democratic senators and representatives all wen to see the Fahrenheit 9/11 at its opening premiere. Do you not think that really assoiate the party too close to Moore?

...the Democratic Party should purge its Michael Moore faction. Moore, the vulgarian who made the movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," is unhinged by his loathing of Bush -- and of the country that has now reelected him. Moore and the hordes of his enthusiasts are a stain on the party -- as are those Democratic senators and representatives who in June made a merry festival of the movie's Washington premiere. Moore illustrates the fact that the Republican Party benefits -- it is energized by resentment -- ...
