I finally got my widget exported to a Sidebar Gadget but I get the following error. If anyone can help me it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Invalid Gadget Found

This gadget has an invalid manifest file, and cannot be used. You will need to obtain an updated version of this gadget in order to use it.

Path: <file path>Gadget.gadget.~0000
File: Gadget.xml
Line: 5
Char: 20
Error: Required White space was missing.

I have never exported to this nor do I know how to edit this. Can anyone help?

Do you have DX Pro?

No doubt he uses a PRO version. In the other case he even couldn't see this option. But why it doesn't work? Unbelievably... 8C

,

This may be some problem with Vista. Or you need to reinstall your DesktopX...

1. What version of DesktopX are you see in the Impulse?

2. Can you post your Gadget.xml here? (Just open it in the Notepade and then copy and paste to the Reply Form). Then

I'll try to think about and help you...

According to Impulse I have 3.50.060 installed.

I don't know how to open the Gadget.xml. All I ahve is the gadget. It doesn't install the gadget to the appdata. So all I have is the gadget. Any ideas?

I don't know how to open the Gadget.xml.

I'm sorry...

I see you have the last version... But I didn't understand is this really a "PRO" version?

If "NO" update your DesktopX to DX PRO (just buy it), then try to export your project as a stand alone sidebar gadget and run it. This always works perfect.

If "YES" seems you need to contact Stardock Support: https://esupport.stardock.com

jukebox:  Didn't cerebroJD do this for you?  We really need his info, not yours.  ;)

Actually I figured it out. There were to many " " quotes in the export information and that was causing an XML error. Thanks everyohne.

Can you provide more detail?  This may be an issue with other gadgets.

In the author section of the gadget I put FirstName "Handle" LastName . That caused an error in the XML because the attribute is author="name" . It showed author="firstname "handle" lastname" . thats just not kosher.
