[Fixed]Mods Not Working

was making my own little mod but it seems no matter what i do beta 3 wont actualy read the data in the mod foldure. it enables it, no errors come up, but it just does not change anything, anyone elce got this problem? just wondering if the mod foldure was restructured or something for entrenchment.

TO ADD NEW ITEMS TO A STARBASE OR REMOVE UPGRADE ITEMS/ADD ABILITIES

you need to open the entity.manifest document and add in the new .entitys or elce the game will refuse to read the modified files. this also goes for making mods.

ya, hell, i cant even fully modify the game by changing the original install folders. what they did by splititng mods in half by using half in entrenchment and half in the original sins folder is rather anoying since you dont know what one to use to get it to work properly. i guess we will have to wait for them to release a guide on how to structure mods.

:(  Me too, i was copying over my mercy ships and mobile defense ships, updating the caps and frigates and changing the starbases to slow mobile, but nothing changes. Also if i select an older mod under Entrenchment, i get a string not found when it loads in the move up, move down and the apply settings buttons on that page, and the mods dont load.

I havent tried 114 yet, so will have to check, but it would still mean no starbases if so.  :(  Anyway, just some notes, i suspect of course that the dev team is working on it. Hope its soon.  :)

Take care,

i wonder where all the starbase files are. ive tried adding new upgrades while taking out a old one by deleting all visible data that is used by the upgrade but i still get a minidump without it, even when its no on the station itself and has all its research and upgrade files removed.

EDIT: ever take so long to do something, then all of a sudden it dawns on you why it does not work? ya.... forgot that research is all referenced in the "player(empire).entity" file >.> well, its still frekin time consuming and anoying tracking down all the files for the "StarbaseUpgradeAccess_blockcolinizationtech". so far i deleted the research, the starbase upgrade file, the reference in PlayerTech.entity. not sure what elce to look for, cant seem to find the ability for it.

i tried doing like you suggested, i still can't get it to work. Even though the files are in the right location it just rejects them completely. Not found errors all over the place. But the files are in the right location. maybe i have the wrong structure in place or something, i'll just wait until Wednesday.

well the mod loader is new, so its no surprise if it has a few bugs in it. for now just hard mod it into your base install (making sure you back up the manufest and all other files beforehand). that DOES work, i know for a fact, the only problem is beta 3 is verry unstable and mini dumps fairly often.

It seems even with the final release of Entrenchment the mod still don't work and there is no checksum!!!

Im starting to get irritated!!!!!!

Fixed. Expect a mod hotfix asap.

Remember, only certain sections are checksummed (e.g meshes, gameinfo). Things like strings don't affect determinilism so they aren't checksummed. This is not a bug.

It had particle, meshes the whole works. Still would show a checksum if it was working.

Try updating on Impulse now. Mods should work again.
