Can't register

So, I'm trying to add a character to my account, but it tells me I haven't registered.  So I click on register and put my code in.  I get an error message: Error 3: Serial Number Is Not Registered To This Account I've tried it in the other available field and get an invalid serial number error.

So what's the deal?

Indeed, what's the deal with the font color, i burned my eyes just looking at it. :P

Seriously though, do you only have one account? Be sure you are trying to reg the account with the correct email. If you have an account on a differnt email at JU or Wincustomize for instance this could very well be your problem. Accounts are shared across all SD sites.

To get the best results though mate, i would email support and get them to check your registrations. they are very helpful and quick, be sure to remember though being the weekend you may not get any joy until monday.

Be sure to check junk folders for replies too.

Sorry for injuring your eyes.

I just have one account, so I'm using the correct email.

Thanks for the advice.

Are you using Impulse? D/L install and reg your account in Impulse and see if that works. There may be some snafu with your account.

When on the Forums go to My Account - Registrations tab.

Do you see your serial there?

It's not clear what you're trying to register, but I'll assume that it's GalCiv2.  I'll also assume that you're trying to add a character to the metaverse.  Please verify with us what you're trying to do and we might be able to help.  Being the weekend, you might not hear back from Stardock very soon.

If you're trying to get on the metaverse as I'm assuming, you'll need to register your game through Impulse first.

To make sure you have the game registered in Impulse, open Impulse and click the My Games tab.  The games you bought should be listed there.

There could be a number of different situations, depending on what the My Games tab shows.  It could say Installed, Available or nothing at all.

Make a mental note of what it shows.

Regardless of what you noted, click the blue planet icon on the upper left side of the screen.  That'll bring up a menu.  On that menu, click on Register a product.  That'll pop up another screen.

In that screen, there should be a registration code for Galactic Civilizations II.  There might be more registrations, but that's the one you're looking for.  Copy that code.

If that code wasn't there, click on the Add Registration button on the bottom right-ish of the screen and enter your information there.

Once done, you can use that code to register a character in the Metaverse.

Let us know how this part went and we can continue from there if need be.  When you reply, let us know what your My Games tab said.  Don't post your serial numbers though.

Motti, this is posted in GalCivII bug reports mate......I'd hope we are talking about GC2 then.

Thanks, Neilo.  I assumed it was, but wasn't sure.

@MottiKhan Using your advice I was able to find and fix the problem.   I had an 8 in my serial that should have been a B.  With that changed, I have no problems.  Thanks!
