I can't wait to see season four. I am waiting for it to be all out of DVD.

I don't have time to watch it on tv.

I just love the way the camera view changes all the time... Way cool.

Still Babylon 5, the best sci fi.

WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME IT WAS THIS GOOD

"OMG BSG IS AWESOME" has only been all over the internets tubes for the past 6 years ;)

Still, a convert is a convert, even if a late one. Make sure you watch Razor as well. I think it's included in the Season 4 dvd set (at least, the stuff I was getting from Netflix).

Someone, somewhere on these forums, made the comment that it was the only thing on TV worth watching/the best thing on TV/something to that effect.

My response was that if that is the case I'm not watching TV anymore.

This is not so much a slight against BSG as a slight against TV in general, but while I haven't watched a full episode of BSG it didn't hook me enough for me to want to, so if it's the best thing on, then there must not be anything worthwhile to watch.

Which is a shame.

As someone once said (who I've forgotten the name of), "Television is called a medium because finding something good on it is rare."

In truth, it's not the kind of show you can jump into the middle of and like it. The hook was the mini-series that served as the prequel to the show ;) That's what drags you into it, and how it all starts. Without watching it from the beginning, it just looks like a cluster#*$#.. which right now it is too, but it's the understandable kind :P

I stopped watching somewhere mid-season 3. It got watered down and slow, soapy even. Is it any beter now?

Season 3 was not its shining point. 4 is much better. You could say, "sh*t hits the fan" is a pretty accurate description.

That sounds promising. Thanks, I'll go pick it up :)

Still, I've seen upwards of 20 minutes each of at least 8 episodes (just don't ask me which ones-I'd guess season 1 or 2, probably mostly 2) before I gave up on it.

I just haven't seen a single episode in its entirety.

Tsk! I really don't get how some people are so amazed by this series.

The mini and season 1 were nice to watch. But after that it got pretty boring for me personally.

Still, I went on watching it, hoping that it would get better. Luckily we're just a few episodes away from the definitive end.

I really don't know if I could have managed to watch another season...

The twist with what earth is all about and who the final 5 are is quite funny though.

As a funny aside number seem to be quite important in movies and on tv.

Airforce One, the dynamic duo, the three Stooges, Fantastic Four, the final five, the oceanic six, The Magnificent Seven, Ocean's eleven, -twelve -thirteen ;)

See, I was just in the process of saying how BSG had lost a little of its hard, visceral edge when Lee became a lawyer and Kara started getting a little mental...but then it hit me that for as long as the show has been on, that's what kind of works.  I have a feeling that come the final 2 hours, we're going to be thinking back on what these characters were like at the start of their mission, and how they've been worn down by attacks, betrayals, the dissapointment of Earth.  I think in the long run shifting gear down from high energy toaster blasting, to a weary trudge through space trying to find a meaning will turn out to be a good move as far as the story goes.

I'd agree that we wouldn't need another season of it though.  I might be pinning way too much hope on the finale, but they've usually delivered the goods at the end of a season.  Here's hoping this is no different!

Wow, Just wow! The ending was out of left field. I'm not happy about it and there are still many questions left unresolved - at least for me.

I take it you have watched too much of Van Earl Wright's CNN Headline Sports commentaries. ;)

and Kara started getting a little mental

I liked the special that was on last week that had interviews with most of the actors.  One that really drives home art imatating life was Katee Sackhoff going off about her frustration in trying to figure out how to play Starbuck this last season.  She was saying that her character was all over the place, no modivation, no goals, nothing driving any of her actions, how was she to try and play that?  The producer/director told her "just like you said".  So a lot of the frustration/anger we saw from Starbuck this season was right from the heart of Katee.

Kattee Sackhoff either is a fantastic actor or she is as crazy as she pretends to be in her roles.

I mean: In Nip/Tuck she plays an anaesthesiologist who loves to fuck on nitrous oxide (laughing gas), smoke indian vision drugs and leads a murderous double life. And Starbuck is also pretty crazy.
