Help Needed With Mask in DesktopX

Help Needed With Mask in DesktopX

I am trying to follow RomanDA's script for masks.  I want to 'swap out' multiple objects. $ (possibly5..maybe 6..but if I get just 4 I'd be happy)

I tried making multiple widgets..but having to go in and set each and every object...nah. I tried to do it all with the scripting..but..well..it goes all goofy on me.

I am using the 'arrows' (see video below) to 'slide' them in and out. I want to use the top arrow to keep advancing and the bottom arrow to go back to the previous one. I'd like to put them all in one widget so I can have a button to go back to the main bar. The video will explain or show what I mean AND what I am doing wrong, better.

Can anyone help with this? I can't figure hiw to have four or more objects and have them come in and out seperatley. I hope you can understand what I mean.

This is what I have so far.  I'm unable to get the 'grouped icons' on the top or bottom to 'fade' at all. I'm REAL good at making 'em dissapear, though. Yeah. I have that down to a freakin science. Sometimes, I can make the whole desktop vanish. Sometimes, without even tryin', I can not only make it all vanish but I can make blood come out of my right ear at the same FREAKIN TIME! Yeah. We're having FUN now! Yes sirreedy-doody-doo!

But I digress.   Opinions on what you see so far, folks?

I'm about ready to. I don't understand.... I tried to use the tutorial script you have for fading. I can't get it to work. So..I created a new desktop, thinking it's what I am naming my objects or something... and I used the script and named all my objects accordingly and it still won't work.  I don't know if I am putting the scripts in the wrong objects (Heaven knows I tried every possible combination) or if it has to with the fact that the 'scripts are designed for 2 seperate drawers'?

I keep getting an error on the button that would call the script. It's basically saying it can't call the fade in script from the object I have it in, and I even used the object names you use in the tutorial and put the 'fade in and out script' in the object the button script says it will call it from.

I want all the icons to be in one place, invisible. I have them in groups. I want to call the group with the icon from the 'My Menu' object. Example... I scroll to the 'Office' object..click on it..and the office icons group fades in at the bottom. They would then fade out when you clicked on one or closed it with a button. All I have been able to do is make them all invisible. (I apparently have that part of the script down real good)

I can set it up with the OFFICE icon to just be an object controller for the group...but the fade effect would look much nicer.

My suggestion it to only have a script in 1 place, a "master" object.  You can handle all the button actions from inside that one script (like in the example above).  All that would be in the "button" objects is an empty script.

Just reviewing all this brings back the good ol' days - or at least some of what I can remember about them.  Gotta give it to y'all (especially RomanDA) and bow to the Gods Of Scripting!!

I got it!

It fades. HA! in AND out! HA! (JUst gotta decide if I want them all the groups fading in and out of same place, which would require a script to fade out what may already be there)

BUT...

I freakin got it! I made 'em fade!

HA!

I got it I got it I got it I got it

HA MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks. I still may need your help with fading them so one group fades out when another fades in. Kinda like the menu-bar, but groups instead.

Are there any good scripts for sound? Like 'play once' or 'play on mouse over'?

Look at the Easy Button

be warned.. a LOT of people hate sounds.. give them an on/off at least!

Yes. I'm still debating. If I add any, it would just be in the opening screen.

Thanks. You won't see all the icons like that. The Menu Bar in the middle will scroll through and you'll click on one to open up a set.

I also made my own set of weather icons for this. I have tried to do them before but never liked them. I think this set is gonna be very nice.
