I didn't know this! Brad! LOL!

He certainly see's himself larger then life

This is very funny, I think, as I just found this out a few hours ago on my own. As we all know, Brad Wardell, the CEO of Stardock and the very man that has brought us many great thinks in both the gaming and software world, left a tiny joke on possibly how big his ego is.

Hard to believe, I know, but I just noticed something small and I don't know if anyone else has noticed this. As we know, Brad is known in the online community as Frogboy and, at times, Draginol. I was bored writing a Design Document for a few minutes so I read the backstory in Galactic CivilisationII: Twilight of Arnor that was supplied in the manuel and this is what I found, and I quote:

Regarding the Dread Lords

Long ago there were the five guardians of the universe. The Mithrilar. These immortal beings existed to safeguard all of creation.

In time, the most powerful of the Mithrilar called Draginol, used the crystal tool of creation called the Telenanth to create a race of beings called the Arnor.

Draginol was not yet wholly ruined and his intentions were still pure. He created the Arnor in two groups – the Dred‘nir and the Elas‘nir. The Dred‘nir were few in number, for Draginol put the most time and effort into them. They resembled him the most in both mind and spirit. The Elas‘nir, by contrast, were much more numerous and simple. They had no concept of the passage of time, for instance and were far less potent than the Dred‘nir.

If any of you read that, Draginol in the above quote is the same Draginol of our mighty Brad 8C  \o/

Sort of fitting, isn't it? He created the game, so he must be one of the mighty Mithrilar (development team). Certainly more powerful then all other Mithrilar (development team) XD

Thank you Brad for defending this universe for as long as you could, appreciate it mate! XD XD  :moon:

Perks of being the head honcho in Stardock. Now the real trick is to find out if the main character or one of a high position was created using Brads face as a template.

I think he wrote the back ground story before the game was made.

i.e. I do not think it was intentional so it has no correlation on his ego

Your telling me that you think Brad (aka Draginol) wrote the backstory before he made GC, and that it is 100% pure coincidence that he just "HAPPENED" to use that same word Draginol (in which he probably didn't even realize it) in the backstory as one of the most powerful Mithrilar. Not quite, that's being a bit naive. I'm sure they did it as a joke or something of the sort, but I'm sure they 'know' it happened.

To be honest, I thought Draginol was some other guy on the Stardock team other than Brad, until I read this post.. haha o_O

Hahaha! I think it's rather funny!   I know it's useless information but there you go. He sometimes go by Draginol in his other forums on the net, such as his personal blog. Hmmm, I wonder if the other Mithrilar is the Development Team? HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I have to say, I was dying for a joke when I was writing my Design Document last night, and I found it!

Brad first wrote the GalCiv stories back in the early 90's or before, previous even to the OS/2 versions of the game, AFAIK.

According to the www.myth, identification of Online Users is an opportunity for some psychopaths to gain multiple personalities & get away with any of these in public. While anybody entering this chaos would fail to detect that there is only ONE constantly available fulltime worker at StarDock named Kryo (or is it 'always' him?).

And, that FrogBoy & many others tagged with the SD official genuine logo are - in fact - the very same physical person, in reality or theory. o_O

Call me a parano, but i wonder. :snowman:

You mean FrogMan... right Zyxp? lol

I'd strongly suspect that Brad adopted the WC/JU handle Draginol long after writing the backstory & it seems perfectly fitting to me.

Hey man, don't get carried away... I'm definitely a separate person from Frogboy/Draginol/Brad.

I'm not sure how you came to that deduction but you are woefully misinformed.  There are plenty of Stardock employees on the sites.

He wrote the stories back when he was a kid.  He's pretty up front about who he is online too.

Bit of an understatement there. ;)

It seems like a coverup and conspiracy to me! Frogboy is probably the only employee in the company, he is Everyone!

With that Detroit Logo Avatar, i suspect a conspiracy of NHL proportions where each of us must admit wwweee are not what we claim to be online - at times. Add my personal brainy squiggely hop-alongly condition to this equation and you'll figure out that the Red Spider symbol is much more than a simple insect representing whatever i have left for a True identity (in this weird world of ATM machines & fishing hooks) or personality "flaws" - virtual or not!
