Cannot get suite to work. What's the deal? Can someone PLEASE answer this post?

Ok.......so I'm new at this and have been reading tutorials but I'm still

confused.  There really needs to be better tutorials for this stuff or I'm

just not looking hard enough.

 

I download ObjectDesktop Ultimate and am trying to install a suite that

I am running Vista and have installed every program that comes in the

ObjectDesktop Ultimate package.  Maybe I'm just not understanding it

but I thought that suites were complete setups so that when a suite is

downloaded, that all you have to do is apply it and then it looks like it

does on the screenshots.  So....I clicked on the download and it automatically

ran, and then my ThemeManager opened up.  I click on the picture of the

suite that I just downloaded and click on "apply this theme".  My taskbar

disappears and it looks as if the new settings are being applied but when

my taskbar reappears nothing has changed at all.  So what am I doing

wrong?

not sure why that is happening mate, but if you go here https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=2834&libid=1&p=6 you can download the actual windowblinds transilvania theme. then if you go here https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=471&libid=25 to download the transilvania cursor theme. then go here https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=1311&libid=2 to download the transilvania icon packager theme.

 

you will have to apply them individually with the applicible program, Windowblinds for the windowblinds theme, CursorFX for the cursor theme and iconpackager for the icon theme. but as you said you installed all the programs you will have them on your system apart from cursorFX (i think) if you don't have cursorFX then go here https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/downloads.asp to download the free version.

 

just a word of warning, this theme is quite old and probably will not skin all of vistas elements as it was made for XP, But it's worth trying because it's a great piece of work.

Open up Theme Manager and click Settings.  Make sure the box is marked to use advance options.

Are you running Vista 64 bit? I have had issues with themes applying with my Vista 64, and had to manually install each item as described By Nimbin.

Transilvania coordinated Desktop: Windowblinds 4.5, IconPackager, CursorXP, BootSkin, LogonXP...

Are you using the latest ThemeManager (3.00.X)?  If so, the fact that this was built with WB 4.5 and other older apps probably means it's not going to work so well with the latest ThemeManager, which uses newer versions.

I would think it'd be theme manager having the issues. As you can apply the skins individually with no problems.* tho older skins will not fully skin newer items, Like using XP WB skins on vista etc.* I being on vista 64 rarely ever get theme manager to fully apply a suite, it either hangs up or dont apply items like WB or the wallpaper, if it applys any thing at all.
