Id like to stop and give a moment to the victims of the horrendous fires we are facing at the moment in victoria and melbourne, and the families who have lost everything but the clothes on their back, and to those who have also lost family members.

Arsonists would have to be the cruelest and sickest criminals of all and I know that they WILL BE CAUGHT.

Lets hope the fires become undercontrol soon.

And I want to give a mighty thanks to the men behind the scenes, the firefighters, who voluneer their time and efforts tirelessly...

we were very lucky. I live in bendigo and the fires here were only 2 klms from my back yard. 50 houses were destroyed and the fire was deliberately lit. They will catch the bastards who lit these fires and when they do i hope they get their just desserts

in prison.

But why they lit fires? Had they any specific demand or just for destruction?

The law should be harsh and more tormenting for criminals..

Jafo's early prediction is, unfortunately, coming true...more than 200 fellow humans dying in a terrible way.

I don't want any "mercy" shown to the perpetrators of the arson.

I also think they'll find it pretty hard to find a sympathetic jury....although I would object to them calling it a jury of their peers (I do know that doesn't mean fellow arsonists...but just the thought turns my stomach).

The penalties should match.

It was only fairly 'recently' that the max sentence was raised from 2 years to 15.

Frankly I'd have it at 15 minimum....per death ....and NOT concurrent.

Alright then imprisionment for 14 years then hanged...

It should be ok now because they will get enough time to regret and also there will be true justice. Process of killing too would be slow then..14yrs..eh

Its not fair to set them free after several years of jail...

At least to them whose lives were claimed by them. Why justice will favour criminals by saving their lives.. why not the innocents and victims?
