Sins Entrenchment Set For February 25

Stardock Corporation announced today that the first micro-expansion to Ironclad’s Strategy Game of the Year, Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment, is undergoing further incorporation of beta feedback to maximize quality and will now be available February 25 for download on Stardock’s digital download platform, Impulse (www.impulsedriven.com).

"One of Stardock’s key strategies for success with past games has been the incorporation of player feedback from our open betas," said Stardock President and CEO Brad Wardell. "We want fans to get the most of this expansion and are making sure we’re delivering the best content possible."

The additional time will allow for Ironclad’s development team to incorporate feedback to date and allow for another round of beta testing.

Ironclad’s Blair Fraser stated, "It’s of paramount importance to everyone that what we’re releasing is the best and most robust content we can."

Sins of a Solar Empire was IGN.com’s “PC Game of the Year” and achieved numerous “Strategy Game of the Year” awards and “Best of 2008” mentions from distinguished media outlets including G4TV, Gamespy.com, Wired, Gamasutra.com, Gametrailers.com and Gamespot.com.

[...]since it would be a waste of time installing the beta version [...]

Not necessarily. That's the nice thing with impulse. You just have to download the files missing for the complete version. Thus, if you have the beta version already installed you won't need to install everything again.

It was a different issue with the beta3 update because some files had to be changed dramatically. That's why you had to uninstall both Sins and Entrenchment and reinstall it. I assume, this won't be necessary a second time...

Edit: just some typos...

You need to uninstall the beta version of Entrenchment before installing the full version, if you didn't have Beta 3.

According to Nakor on IRC, you need to uninstall the beta version of Entrenchment before installing the full version.

I confirm this- I got a prompt saying to uninstall Entrenchment uninstall which results in SINS showing removing files!  Better still have that good 'ol copy of 1.13 lieing around and simply restore said archive

How would you prefer it? Rusty hatchet, chainsaw, or a good old acid bath?

Only if you test it on yourself first. Safety first!

How about I test it on Ue-Carbon?

Fine with me. Then double-check it on yourself.

No, no, there will be no checking anything on myself. :X
