Cannot install - no free space errors

For some reason I am not able to install the Dark Avatar expansion as I keep getting errors about lack of disk space. The error logs show:

The laptop has at the moment 120GB free out of 300GB. It is only affecting this game as well as I could install Logon Studio Vista using Impulse fine without any problems.

So far I have re-installed Impulse twice and removed IE 8 (back to IE 7 now) in case that was causing the problem but Dark Avatar still will not install.

Are you running multiple partitions?  Have you set Impulse to install your games to the correct partition if so?  (Blue orb in upper left corner, preferences, folders.)

Where is DL installed?

Nope, single partition on the disk and I did not change any of the settings in the preferences.

This all worked recenlty, I had both the GalCiv addons installed and working but removed them last week to save a bit of disk space. I fancied playing them again today but got this disk space error.

Do you by chance have the Windows hard drive quota management active?  It seems unlikely that you would, but I'm fairly positive that would produce exactly this error.

I have the same exact problem.. Vista x64, 200GB free on C:\, and I have my installs set to C:\Program Files (x86)

Hiyah, no there is no quota management active on the drive in the laptop.

It's weird as this expansion and the other GalCiv expansion have been installed on this laptop recently and worked fine so not sure what is going on in there? :(
