Vasari Phase Cloaking Ability Useless?

Upgrade it to the second level of Phasic Cloaking, put the Navigator at a star, disable autocast, and use Phasic Cloaking. Since the star regenerates AM faster than Phasic Cloaking consumes it (2.5/sec restored versus 2.0/sec consumed), the Navigator can never be destroyed until you pull it out and you have effectively permanent visibility of the star.

However, outside of that, Phasic Cloaking only prolongs the lifetime of your scout by a few seconds if frigates are around.

In a grav well with only strike craft to worry about, activate Cloaking just before the SC's weapons fire, and deactivate once they finish their pass.

Turn autocast off with it. Otherwise its useless. With max AM upgrades and max Phasic Cloaking researched you can keep your navigator alive a long time, but its main strong point is the ability to park it next to a star and never run out of AM.

never thought if using that ability to have a visual of stars..... nice

meh, scouts are expendable. you still get the information you wanted even if the scout gets killed a few second after jumping in. what i really want to see is phasic cloaking on an armed ship.

I'd like to see Pirates with Phase Cloaking abilities so that they can hide and ambush unsuspecting prey! 

I like to use them to jump into a well, cloak, then shoot it with the death cannon a few times watch everything get good and scewed and then jump the fleet in to clean up.

Yeah pirates with cloaking that sounds petty cool and interesting to see.
