other subscription thoughts

I almost feel guilty not being a current subscriber and not being sure of if there are other subscription concepts, that maybe WC might have some other thoughts on subscription levels. I was thinking;

1. for an initial subscription allow a choice of software. This might work for me if SS6 was offered.

2. once an individual subscribes allow them to maintain their subscription at a reduced rate. If it lapses, then...

On one hand you're told membership eliminates the ads, but it doesn't.

Or there's "a glitch". Or servers are down. Or "We're moving to different servers".

Or everything is gonna get much better. Just not quite yet. First comes marketing, because not enough people pay subscriptions. {wonder why?}

But even though we're gonna fix the site (maybe...why maybe? Because we've promised before but it never quite got done) when we can get around to it, and WC as you know it is gonna be different, buy a subscription.

Sound like a good sales pitch?

I understand what you mean Doc, and you make a good point, I think the add thing though is just meant to be about the main site, not forum inclusive, when they say 'Add Free Browsing'?:'( I don't know hehe

I subscribe and I don't see any ads.  It may have to do with what browser you use and possibly settings in the browser. 

I am using IE8 RC1 now.  With other versions of IE I had to ocassionally clean out brower history and cookes.  Doing that with what ever browser you use may help, or not.  Worth a try.

PuterDudeJim, do the ads go away if you sign out and then back in?

It's hard to tell if that's a problem or a temporary bug/glitch, Philly....Now the adds are gone...maybe because the forums were 'down' (maybe for a fix?) early this a.m.

One annoying thing, is the Subscriber badge and 1000+ badge, keep vanishing.. X| twice yesterday, and they are still gone.. no biggie, but I WANT  THEM BACK!:blush:

Visible ads for subscribers is usually a cookie thing after a server issue.  Logging out and back in usually resolves it.
