Summer '09 has arrived...

Summer '09 has arrived...

and it's gonna get warm.

Apparently us poor bastards in Melbourne [Australia] are in for the hottest stretch of days in 100 years... [bit tough for the Oz Open [tennis], too]....

Today it'll be 38...

Tomorrow [Wednesday] 41

Then 40, 40, 40, 30, 30.

Yes, that's centigrade....for those still in the dark ages that's [C x 9/5] + 32 = Fahrenheit....;)

WHAT!?!?!?!?!!?!?X| XD

Tennis, TG: A game played with 2 or 4 participants. A rectanglar court divided by a net delineates the 'territory' of the participants. Each has a raquet and strives to hit the ball into the opponent's territory where he/she cannot hit it back. The scoring system is illogical and complex.

The game is frequently played in inhospitable weather conditions (vis. starkers reference and rain). I was referring to the ridiculous custom of hitting one's balls only to have to pursue them as in golf, baseball, etc. Why hit them in the first place if one then has to chase them?

What didn't you understand?

Notice, that I laughed Doc.. also notice, I gave you Karma for that post.5*

Note.. I do know what Tennis is, I've played it.

Something weird with the karma all day...Zubaz is siphoning mine off systematically. I was playing with you and the explanation.... and I know you know that you little minx!

Did I ever mention Dr. Renee Richardson, an Ophthalmologist who went to Sweden back in the early '60's for sex change surgery? Well, he was quite the player and after the surgery wrote a book, "Tennis Without Balls".

Day 5..... still not king...

OK...for those who don't get it....

THE SECRET DIARY OF ARAGORN SON OF ARATHORN

Day One:

Ringwraiths killed: 4. V. good.
Met up with Hobbits. Walked forty miles. Skinned a squirrel and ate it.
Still not King.

Day Four:

Stuck on mountain with Hobbits. Boromir really annoying.
Not King yet.

Day Six:
Orcs killed: none. Disappointing. Stubble update: I look rugged and manly. Yes!
Keep wanting to drop-kick Gimli. Holding myself back.
Still not King.

Looks like we've lost 6 lives and 24 houses so far....

Victoria shares the rep with California as the world's 2 worst places for bushfires.

Snowballs anyone? ;P

This is tomorrow's forecast - I'm right at the tip of the cursor.

Quoting myself.. when I was 15.. 'It was hot today... this was caused by heat from the sun'.

[Long story......... ]

My sister and brother-in-law dropped in today.  They told me their house I'd designed for them in Boolara [Southeast of Melbourne] was lost in the fires.  {they'd sold it years ago].

That's the second of 'mine' I've lost....the first was in Ash Wednesday at Cockatoo .....that was brand new...with only the shower screen left to install before hand-over.

I for one would personally castrate the fire-bugs.  Last thing we need is for the pricks to breed.
