Banned from a thread!

I saw that and decided to abandon the thread myself.  I only banned someone once from my Kzinti Empire thread, and that was Harborne, who had been proven to be cheating on the MV, and was because he was totally unrepentant about having done it.  I dont expect to ever use that functionality again, and I think others should be very wary of using it too.

I somewhat agree with you KzintiPatriarch. Banning should be a last resort in an arguement, but I don't believe some minor issues or disagreements should carry the ban at all.

Either way Zyxpsilon come join us on the kzinti thread, that's if it's alright with you Kzin. We maybe be a bunch of hungery, barbarian, war-mongering, flesh eating cats but we are nice once you get to know us.

I noticed the tyranny still doesn't take a liking to the kzinti empire either, talk about showing the kzinti empire a thing or too. Personally i think it's because their empires only second and their jealous. amazing how people will react to someone who's just simple had better fortune.

Thanks mADDYman. :)  Any discussion is welcome in the Kzinti Empire thread...and Zyxpsilon is already a member.   As for the competition between the ToE and the Kzinti, it's mainly taunting in good fun.  I call many in the ToE my friends and certainly give Neilo his due for bringing the Tyranny to #2, which is no small feat.  Disagreements happen with friends. and thats allright too.  I dont agree with banning people without great cause, but I think Neilo is of course also entitled to his opinion.

No Stardock moderator action was taken on that thread. Whatever was done there was done through the blog self-moderation options on JU/ImpulseDriven, which is not something we encourage light use of. Those options are intended for use on blogs, not on the forums.

I drop all previous comments on the tyranny. as of a second ago neilo and kzin informed me of the relations between them and their empires. Sorry if i offended a few people with my words.

I think it's wonderful how friendly competition exists without causing serious trouble. added a good feeling to the comunity.

Zyx, yeah it was Neilo moderating his own thread, not any SD people.  Sorry that was confusing.  Like Kryo and I both said, I think that function is something to be used only in extreme circumstances by users.  I've only done it once and dont expect to again.  That was why I declined to particpate further in the Metaverse 2.0 thread once the creator decided to moderate it.

Isn't it a bit silly that an owned and operated by SD forum about GC2 would let such drastic indirect action to a public thread even if localized at Impulse in a form of a blog?

That opens a tricky path to abusive situations.

I'd blacklist Neilo for what he did. But, 1) I certainly can't. And, 2) It's childish. And, 3) It won't matter anymore since i went the PM way to resolve these issues. And, 4) Who cares!!

I highly doubt, he'll return the favors though since i'm a pretty good judge of personality & behavioral manners in people.

Besides, please do pick your targets Stardock staff... the coders should give us a StarBase constructors automation option in DA (as is in TA) ***before*** the darn silly MV medallic pride flattering gets hours of work from someone overthere at the office across the room from Carielf tasking plans & responsabilities. Priorities being a list of tweaks and fixes... i want to have planets which show me an image of any surface tiles and the right text for ANY, everywhere.

How about a blue_green_or_yellow Hardpoint and an enhanced shipyard as described in another *unblocked and available to all* thread of my own?

No.

DA has been said to be EOL for so long that we're lucky we got the spying change backported to it-not to mention that annoying little industrial rounding error fixed that no one but me ever noticed or cared about.

Any changes to DA at this point will be, for lack of a better way to put it, accidental, and that's the sad truth.

The planetary governor is nice in theory but I'd like it to work a bit better in TA before it were backported, if ever.

The same goes for the automation of constructors-we still need the same amount of constructors, so it doesn't really help the system, and this isn't something that's likely to change in TA, either, i.e. for the rest of the lifetime of GC2.

Hopefully there will be a somewhat more useful implementation in GC3, though.

In any case the difference is irrelevant.  The person who's in charge of fixing the various MV inconsistencies (to my knowledge, anyway) is not part of the "GC2 team", is probably not even using the same (coding) language, and may not even know the same (coding) language.

Right now - i'm right into the thick of things (very last testing phase) with 1) Three Black Ships 2) Speed & Range Modules 3) Spy base super project which multiplies velocity exponentially for these ships only 4) Looooong range support 5) Sabotage by indirect tricks and, 6) Hidden agendas by ways you can't even imagine -- yet.

Whatever fits in a mod (be it mine or not, btw) can only push the envelope further for coders.

Terraforming is already a blast (in my copy, hi-hi) and since the AIs really took the bait -- Extremes will never be the same to players. Functional & ready, solid variation of context.
