Quest WIP

Hello everyone...I'm a longtime lurker and a first time poster...so here goes!  Hopefully I can insert the image correctly

This is my first Windowblinds skin, at least the first that is far enough along to post, and I would love to have some constructive criticism.  I have skinned the Taskbar, Startmenu and the UI2 window frames...so much done, but so much more to go...

Thanks to everyone

Niac

Ack, I did a search and only saw 2 that included Quest...the name isn't fixed, I'll consider it a WIP too.   Thanks for pointing it out.

Thank you everyone!   I've lurked here so long, I guess it's time to become more active.

I love designing the parts of the skin I have completed, it's the control details that always seem to bog me down.  You have all given me the forititude to see this one through!!

Cool Niac, I reckon it will rock when it's done:meow:

My advice is to make a backup copy of it.  After fiddling with the colors and the fonts on my blind, I got called away from my computer and when I came back, half the blind was gone!  So I had to pick through all the images and put them back in the correct places, and fill in the extra instructions, etc, HUGE PITA!  Would have been even worse if I hadn't had the backup copy (not as much of the details finished in the backup copy, but still had the fonts left and some of the system colors so it was just a lot of copy work). This is not the first time something messed up while working on it, but again, fortunately, at THAT time I had an earlier version uploaded to Mediafire for WIP testers.

Any venture that consumes this amount of time should have backup copies stored not only on your computer, but uploaded somewhere online just in case...just my 2 cents worth.

The blind is AWESOME so far.  I can't wait to see it finished! 5*

Wow, thank you again for making me feel so welcome.

k10w3, I will definitely take your advice and save everything somewhere other than my PC.  I can't imagine having to start from scratch, although I do find myself constantly revising and touching up.

BluesBrother.  I only have XP on my PC at the moment, but I do own a copy of Vista Business that I could install in a dual-boot set-up after I finish the XP skin...though that may not be anytime too soon ;)
