Folder Bar and IE list issues

for Vista

Well, I finally started my 1st Vista skin.  Talk about a learning curve!  I am trying to figure out where things are/what they are called, so I can skin them.  Right now, I have 2 issues that are driving me nuts!

1.  Folder Bar:  Where do I go to change the color of the text on the bar?  Also, I want to skin that blue arrow on the bar as well.  What is the name of the image for it, and what section is it in?  For the life of me, I can't figure out where either of those things are.

2.  IE7 list in Internet Explorer.  I'm referring the drop down list when you click on the favorites icon that is to the left of the tabs.  What image is used and where is it to skin the menu and the border around it?  Also, is there an image for the mouseover?  If there is, what is it and where is it?  Also, where do I go to change the text color of the mouseover?  Also, what image is used, and where is it for that blue arrow to the right when you mouseover an item in the list?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

1 Can't change that text color or the arrow image.

2. Pretty sure u can't skin the border around the fav section, The blue arrow there... also unskinnable.

The buttons and text up top are skinned via your toolbar icons.

You should also skin the Toolbarsplit and Toolbarsplitdropdown buttons in Vista to have IE and Explorer function correctly.

Thanks for the quick reply....I sorta figured that the folder bar text and arrow were not skinnable...I was just hoping they were...the default colors do not go with my blind at all!  Yuck!

In that fav section that is to the left of the tabs in IE7, there is no button for the mouseover that I can tell....all I have is the classic color mouseover...I think it is from the All Programs panel of the start menu.  That isn't too bad, but I cannot see the text on mouseover.  My system mouseover text is green.  The color of text for the mouseover must be the same color as the mouseover itself...the mouseover is a light beige kinda color.

All of my other drop down menus are skinned correctly as I wanted.

I hope I got this right.  As you can see, there is a beige mouseover color, and the text is not visible on mouseover

Not an image I'm afraid, they are going to be in your system colors section, and off course being so will affect other areas of the theme when changed. Try to use some outrageous, noticable colors in the system colors that match those colors for that area.. then you can see which color is affecting what.

I'll be on Vista a bit later if you can't find the correct ones.

I monkeyed with the system colors and couldn't get anything changed....this is nuts!  I am about ready to give up!  I can't/won't upload a skin that looks like crap!

Thanks!  My pc is shut down for the night.  I only have XP on my laptop, so i can't do this here.  I don't even have SKS 6 on the laptop.  I'll work on it in the morning when I get up....and post back here.  I hope it works!

Well there will be a way to make it work.. how much it alters your base theme is another story.

Good luck :)

Kitty, I already have a notebook for Vista!  Any time I figure out something, I jot it down in notepad and print it out for future reference...lol.

Anyway, this is the best I could get the text, without totally mucking up the skin....at least I can see the text under the mouseover.

Thanks so much vStyler for all your help on this!

Yup... looks 'bout like most of mine in vista.. difficult to get much contrast there.

Well done :)
