First impressions

Returning to windows after a few years with Mac gear. Despite running an old computer with XP on board, I am pleased to see that there are programmes like Fences out there that seem to compete with Mac's friendly GUI and general easy presentations.

I tried Object Dock but it was too much like the Mac's docking tool and basically got in the way most of the time. Fences is different - simple but with some nice features, like the hide tool. Simplicity is the way forward for OS's of whatever persuasion.

I did get the error message from Microsoft on first installation, but that may be my computer, not the software.

I shall continue using the beta but it looks very promising...just hope the full version isn't too expensive! Mac's docking tool comes free with OS X!

Fences is very useful, I agree. Too bad you can't get along with Object Doc (it can be made to"hide") If you have only a few programs you use frequently you could use the Quick Start Bar.

Another GUI modifier you might look at (and which works very nicely with ODNT) is Winstep Extreme.

Anyway, welcome! Nice to have you here and hope you enjoy it!
