I want to apologize for being a whiner and throwing a pity party for myself and being jealous. The truth of the matter is, if I were a little more self centered and looked out for myself first, I would have a lot more than I do. The fact is, I choose to support the people I've been supporting, in the manner in which they are accustomed, and that's more important to me than a laptop. Sometimes I forget that.
That being said, y'all have some fantastic desktops!
While generosity and kindness are not traits to be disparaged (nor discouraged), there's is absolutely nothing wrong with spoiling yourself a little from time to time. While you might not need an extravagant US$40k setup, getting a system that makes you happy will go a long way towards improving your outlook and general attitude, which directly benefits those you support.
In addition, the fact that some people own more than others does not necessarily mean that they're self-centered and/or selfish. They may earn more and work harder, or manage their finances better. They may indeed be as generous as you are.
In fact, one of the most giving and nicest people I know had a complete top end 64bit system with Vista Ultimate given to her by a friend who happened to own a computer store. She was speechless and obviously terribly thankful.
