Sad day for America, Sad day for the world

Sad day for America, Sad day for the world

I congratulate John Kerry on his concession, though I believe that he still had a fleeting chance of becoming the next President due to the fact that I would not be surprised to see issues come up in the news regarding election fraud or other such things. Despite this, I think this is a sad day for America. The people have spoken, and the people have made the wrong choice. Further, it is a sad day for the world. I apologize to the world for my countries mistake in choosing its leader. We have made a colossal error. Maybe it is I, but I don't understand how someone could vote for Bush.

Let me qualify that statement with this: I cannot understand why a non-wealthy person would vote for Bush. I mean, I like my huge tax cut as much as anyone else and I see how hundreds of thousands of dollars can cause you to vote for Bush, but for other people, how and why? We know the crimes against humanity and the country committed by Bush. We know that under his leadership he has (whether justified in his mind or not) slaughtered 100,000. We (or at least I) know that under Bush’s leadership the federal government has jailed people secretly, refusing to release the number of detainees and refusing to press charges. Though the people I know of have been released, I am sure there are many more who have not. Further, we know that Bush plans to push through the Patriot Act two which takes away our rights as American Citizens that we currently enjoy and that we enjoyed before he pushed through the first patriot act.

Once again, I feel saddened about our countries decision, and I can only hope that reasonable people such as Colin Powel remain to have some power in the administration. Further, Mr. Bush I have this to say to you. You have my support as the leader of my country, but you will not have my support as an individual. Nor will you ever have my respect or trust. Its to late for that.
I am just happy that Michigan voted Kerry. My efforts in this state were not wasted, and I know that I live in a state with people who feel the same compassion I do. Kerry may have lost the election, but the US Citizens lost the most, a savior.

Wow, here are two examples of people who have chosen polar opposites, have become incredibly sarcastic, and fail to recognize that both posts are repugnant to a third party.

Hear here.

Some people can't get over a loss and some don't know how to celebrate a win properly.

I am voted for Badnarik and I don't feel like a loser nor do I feel like America made the wrong choice, they decided through a Democratic Republic election who they wanted and they chose George W. Bush, I for one do not think the United States will fall just because of ONE MAN, the only time America will fall is when ALL MEN AND WOMEN fail America.

I think our country is much stronger than just by a person who sits in chair of President of the United States, because if that was not the case we would have fallen a long time ago!!

St. Hubbins Theorum #113: The amount of class and decorum demonstrated by bloggers in the wake of Bush's victory is directly proportional to the amount of team sports they played as a child, specifically contact sports. When two tigers fight, one dies and the other is badly injured; similarly, a true warrior knows there is no 'winner' when he goes to battle, and doesn't run smack to the effect of "PWNED!!!", "NEENER NEENER NEENER!!!", etc. in the event of victory. It's a matter of honour. The Bushies who think "they" "won" should check their mailboxes tomorrow for their "Bush Won!" prize, though I have a feeling it's not coming. "They" contributed about as much to Bush's victory as I contributed to the Red Sox; I guess vicariously coattailing is a cheap counterfeit to personal accomplishment. Anyhoo, I am genuinely saddened, disappointed, shocked, and bummed out by today's news.

Grim noone said we would fall. I said it was a mistake that will cost thousands of lives. Let me put it this way.

If I voted on who was most beinficial for me, I would vote for Bush. If it was who is most benificial to the country, then it is Kerry. For the world, again Kerry. For my children- Kerry. For me in 20 years- Kerry.

I never realized that believing that people who vote for a certain candidate aren't any less compassionate or intelligent than people who vote for another candidate is a polar opposite. (Finally thought of a response)

If that's what you believe Messy, I apologize, however, your response to the original post did not seem to indicate that.

Apparently, you think the Democratic Republic has fallen because you believe it was a mistake, and I say to you the US is stronger than that period.

Sandy,

Latching on to one study doesn't make it a fact. IF you read the article fully, it's based on pretty sketchy data (asking 988 people in Iraq on how the war had affected them and extrapolating it to 20 million people is ridiculous since war is not like taking a poll, it's highly geographical).

I will concur with others, your attitude is precisely the reason why Bush won. The problem wasn't Kerry as much as it was Kerry supporters. It turned off voters to Kerry and energized voters for Bush.

Brad's right, Kerry needed to be the non anti-Bush, instead he was just the Not Bush canidate.  If only we still lived in the time of Abraham Lincoln....

Bush won, deal with it.
A true majority of Americans, for what ever reason, prefer Bush, CNN polls state that only 60% of Kerry voters actually voted for Kerry, the other 40% just voted against Bush.
Thanks to that majority of voters we will have a conservative Supreme Court, ( did I hear Rehnquist breath a sigh of relief?), judicial appointments will finally be made thru out the country.
Islamic Facist can have a demon to rally against - in Iraq, where they can die along side the remenants of the Bathist and other insurgents, rather than let their hatred fester as they plan longrange.....
Our homeland will continue to be a safer place to live, freedom will spread thru the Middle East, and the neo-con new world order will begin to take effect.
It is no dastardly plot, oversimplified it just states that we secure the middle east and become recognized for what we are, the last world superpower.
Don't be ashamed, we are what we are, and benevolently will our power be wielded.
hmmm, I wonder what Iran and N. Korea think about our election ? Bet those negotiations get cranked back up rather quickly.....

I feel much safer since Kerry conceded.

Tough Noogies! It's their opinions! You don't like it? Don't read it. You are a "perfect" example of "political correctness" and why it's no good.
