PRESENTING... YOUR FAVOURITE STARSHIP!

PRESENTING... YOUR FAVOURITE STARSHIP!

Some creative and arty-fart fun for everyone

-= (PRESENTING... YOUR FAVOURITE STARSHIP) =-

Hey people, time to get your cyber hands a little dirty!

Everyone likes to imagine their dream starship, whether so you an play with it on galciv2 or not it's always something we sci-fi fans love to think about. Well now's your time to share.

It doesn't matter if you can not draw for nutts! Just pour your heart and soul into a drawing or picture or model of your dream ship or ships. Let go and have fun, use any program you like. You can even just describe it to the rest of us if you like through text. For those of you with a more creative swing you can even give us the full cinemas experience as you tour us around you ship on a MPEG, AVI, or whatever file.

Just go nutts with it people, lets get Creating!

My favourite starship;

Name: Dave Mengchang
Captian: Number 1 (he looks like his ship)
Crew compliment: unknown
Weapons: Blasters
Defences: Magnetic sheilding
Important notes to remember: This ship's fax machine is located between his lower back and upper thighX| . It can even print coins8(| .

Its funny how everyone keeps picking those plastic toys from star trek and other sci-fi movies.

Take a look at an imperial star destroyer, or even a super star destroyer and you will get an idea of how a Bismarck or a Yamato of the space should look like.

:)

I do find that SSD to be a little flawed :) after all.. a single a-wing was enough to get rid of it, once it has lost its shields. Sure they've never heard about redundancy as far as CnC goes. :)

Still the most impressive ship in sci-fi.

From what I've seen, it seems you're just using it as an excuse for not actually being good at modelling/creating these. Either that or, frankly, shut up and stop bragging about things you don't even show us...

Lol

pfft, star wars ships are all flash and over compensating by size

id much rather a smaller, much higher tech ship

i mean, 1 or 2 (2 if you want to leave nothing left) Mk9 Naquadria enhanced nuclear weapons from Stargate, beamed aboard using Stargate beaming tech or even Star trek beam tech would drill the super star destroyer.

technology, abilities, and technological superiority are the way to go baby

And a warship or even just a singe bomber of today could probably deal with half a dozen yamatos or bismarcks alone. This does not change the fact, that i would choose any of those two over the missile spamming jokes they call warships today.

Plus if we really go into comparisons, you have to take force users into account as well.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

cute, and up until the force thing, very accurate. Ship to ship the Federation would drill the Empire hands down. plus, if Picard hadnt answered that Com, nothing would have happened so after a few losses, protocol would have been to shoot first and ask questions later

im not sure if i would choose an older style battleship (i.e. yamamoto or bismarck) or a modern day cruiser... (most navies decomissioned their battleships because guns are obsolete compared to missiles etc) i mean, a harpoon anti-ship missile is more accurate and outranges even a 16 or 19 inch cannon so...

also, there is more armor on a modern day ship, as well as point defense cannons that could deal with incoming fire...

Read a book called "Weapons of Choice: World War 2.5"

i cant remember who wrote it, but its very interesting, its about an international naval fleet from about 100 years in the future that gets accidentally  sent back in time to just before the battle of midway

the technology in that book is quite impressive =)

As far as disabling ships go I'd have to say an EMP would be the most effective weapon.

If you're so paranoid about it, put huge, hard-to-remove watermarks. From what I've seen, it seems you're just using it as an excuse for not actually being good at modelling/creating these. Either that or, frankly, shut up and stop bragging about things you don't even show us...

If he does not what to upload his work that is his perogative. I myself have some ships I will not post on this sight for my own reasons as well. Frankly Baiting someone in such a way is an ill show of sportsmanship and ruins the atmosphere of this thread. If you wish to have it out with someone please keep it off the metaverse or if you cannot just off my thread.

I will now restate the intention of this thread. It is not a competition, this is a creativity for artists and fans to get Ideas or express their likings for a ship(s). People feed of one anothers input to hopefully better their skills. I'm sorry there was a breif moment of Baiting but hopefully we can get back to the fun stuff now.

It is not a competition

but playful "Star Trek PWNS Star Wars" tirades are okay? =)

Trek > Wars. Especially if you count the last 20 years of Wars.

I despise both :-p

I dispise only Trek, so you can imagine what a bonus it was when the Enterprise lost.

Sorry, not up on my Trek lore so I have no idea what you're talking about lol.

However, I will admit Star Trek the new movie was awesome :)

pfft, the Enterprise lost because the empire chimed in from nowhere, and Vader used his stupid force powers. i mean, he needed the Enterprise to answer his damn phone call in the first place! =P

besides, if it was shoot first and ask questions later, i dont think Star Wars Repulsor Shields could withstand an assault from Star Trek particle cannons and photon torpedos

Star Trek FTW!

I don't think the enterprise could destroy the death start of it got the chance. It took very fast small fighters which the enterprise doesn't have. A shuttle pod is useless too, their too slow. :P

STAR WARS FTW!

lol, interesting thought though. The Empire has a powerful weapon like the death star but their star destroyers are pathetic. Their technology is meant to be 10,000 years ahead of Federation technology, yet it could not even scratch the enterprise and was disabled in a few hits.

i think the Enterprise could... i mean, 1) the Death Star the Rebels destroyed was incomplete and unshielded, so, given that we agree Star Wars weapons are ineffective vs Federation technology, the Enterprise could simply sit outside and shoot at stuff until they hit something important, and 2) aside from that simple strategy, they could also beam a torpedo onto the Death Star (probably into the reactor itself or maybe somewhere in the Power Relays for secondaries...

long story short, Star Trek does and always will PWN Star Wars. the fact that most if not all Star Wars weapons are useless against Star Trek ships alone means Star Trek rulez! =P

you all forget that star wars was thought of from the anti balistic missle system that the US told teh USSR could shoot down anything anyone launched. so star wars was created within logical tech as star trek is pure hoping and wishing. which means STAR WARS FTW!!!! :P  lol

not really agent, although star trek was imigined, it did inspire real life technology. If you have seen the doc "How William Shatner changed the world" the cell phone was born from the imiginations of the writers of the show. Not to mention the  numerous technology that could was presented both on and, probably still top secret, technology that we have.

to add to Moosters comments, there is a book by a respected Science Fiction write called Heinlien who wrote a book called Footfall.

In that book aliens came and invaded earth yada yada you know the story, important thing is when the Americans wanted to counter attack, or even wanted intelligence, they grabbed a bunch of Sci-Fi writers and put them into a thinktank

Now, i know thats a story, and not real, but then what do you think a Thinktank is?

Also, the US Gov didnt called it Star Wars, it was dubbed that by the public who like to name things...

Star Wars the movie was first released in 1977, while the Strategic Defense Initiative (or the Star Wars project) was created in 1983

which means you Fail, thanks for playing though =)

I am not into other sci-fi franchises as much (except maybe Mass Effect and Warhammer 40k), but I can see myself commanding a Skirantra Carrier as I'd be a valuable asset to the fleet, or perhaps a Jarrasul Evacuator... DRAIN PLANET. 'Nuff said.

Notes: The Krenim temporal weapon ship was built at the height of the Krenim Imperium over two hundred years ago. This ship is impervious to any conventional weapons as it is phased out of normal time-space, the ship is also protected from changes in the timeline and the crew's aging was halted. On the weapon ship's first mission the creator and captain, Annorax, used ships temporal weapons to erase the Imperium's enemies from history. Due to a temporal miscalculation the Krenim Imperium collapsed and Annorax spent the next 200 years trying to restore the Imperium creating and erasing hundreds of species from history. The U.S.S. Voyager first encountered the temporal ship when trying to cross Krenim space after developing temporal shielding. Voyager itself was used to ram the temporal ship after a mutinous crew phased the ship back into normal ship. With the sacrifice of Voyager the temporal ship itself was erased from history and the timeline restored.

Star Trek > Star Wars.

I could spend a few paragraphs listing various reasons off the top of my head, but it's pretty late, so I'm just gonna go ahead and wrap this up.

TRANSPORTERS.

Thanks for playing, Star Wars.

And, of course, SW weapons are ineffective vs. ST shields =)
