I have just got off the phone to my daughter in Tasmania and its 3.37 am down there, she has just gone into labor and is waiting for the safe arrival of their first son.

Poor baby....to look like that at such a young age. 
He's really a beautiful baby, but I had to bust the Cap'n and Shaunna. Not to mention there may be a curried cabbage shortage in the near future. Does Gerber's sell the strained curried cabbage in OZ?

There are many things that you will find that are Grandparents duties (don't know if this is your first or not). The only one important task you have infront of you is a simple one, in theroy at least, never allow any harm to come to the child. No explaining required or needed I'm sure.

Actually, the major duty of the Grandparent is to spoil the heck out of the child, feed it lots of sugar and caffeine and send it back home with the parents to deal with the resultant havoc.
Q-Why do Grandparents and Grandchilren get along so well?
A-They have a common enemy.
Grandchildren are so much more fun than children, you should have them first.
Hopefully I won't find that out, for at least, another 10 years
but ....with that 'creature' my son is seeing

Thanks for the pictures of the good looking litte guy.This brings back memories of when our grandson was born. We were lucky enough to be there for the blessed event. He's 6 years old now. They grow up so quickly.
