I just pre-ordered Element yesterday and Im wandering when I get access to the beta on Impluse?
Wrong Beta. Demigod and Sins of a Solar Empire: Entranchment both are in Beta right now, but Elemental has a ways to go.
its been said there might be (will be?) a closed beta before the public beta in june. It will probably be awarder to loyal stardock customers and high karma forum members.
Earlier acces means bigger issues ofcourse, I dont know what kind of experience you are looking for.
tbh, i'd like to hear a little more by the end of Jan. (but wouldn't we all?)

sadly, as much as I wish crying about it would make it come faster, it won't. But I have a deal for you. Check in the forums next week and I'll give you something that you can you can turn that excitement into other than drool as we wait for for the journal.

My credit card was recently charged for my pre-order... does this mean the beta will soon be starting?
In theory, as far as my memory on the matter goes, you only get charged for Elemental (or any Stardock game) only once the beta starts. Considering that it's very unlikely that it'll start any time soon, i would say that it's been a mistake and that you should ask Stardock's sales support about it. (not that i wouldn't like a beta like... next week? Even if it's at the same time that DoW II's...)
Was it actually charged, or was a hold placed on the funds? When SD sends a request to the bank checking for availability of funds (to see if it's a valid card), some banks will place a hold on the funds in question for a day or two, in expectation of having the actually charge come through in that time frame. (Pre-orders aren't something that's very well handled, it would seem -- but since the way they are handled works, nobody spends the time and effort to come up with a better solution)
Honestly if it just stays to the current target dates, I'll be awfully happy. I've waited 15 years for some more goodness, I can wait another few months. Or at least so I try to convince myself. 
Good luck with that outlook! Anyone want to take bets on how long it'll be until BiffMan joins us in the ranks of those in withdrawal from a product we've never even sampled yet?
I found a solution to that problem. I keep a window with the forums minimized, so no matter what I'm doing if I'm near my computer I can get my fix when withrawal sets in.
It doesn't work when I'm not by my computer though. I need an iphone or something!
I'm pretty lucky. I can check it at work. I get lonely late at night though when people aren't posting. Like I keep refreashing the page and checking both general and ideas going (did anybody say something?)
Then when a post does appear, but it is like a small post that doesn't really add anything, I don't want to seem like an annoying troll by making every other post mine. When its a conversation, thats fine... but really I just want to be a good forum troll. (I kill kids using decent and painless methods)

Right, I'm not one to intimidate using their dead remains. Though my fellow trolls suggest it of me. They say it better sends the message.
Now, I might remind I'm a forum troll. We hide in forums, not under bridges. Its like how a cave troll lives in a cave and a river troll lives in a river (that is the kind you find under bridges). So they are hidden in the forum somewhere. (I think I left one somewhere around a hero post that required assembly. It might have been an attractive blonde girl, either way I butchered her pretty badly.
