My computer freezes when I try to load a mod

I've had this problem every time I try to load a mod. I have them installed right but when I click enable the computer freezes and a window pops up and say that it has saved minidump such and such and that the program has stopped working.

I've tried to wait it out but it doesn't change.  I unistalled the game and ripped out all the left behing folders and then reinstalled it but the same thing still happens.

Any ideas?

Some mods don't work with every version of the game. If you have Entrenchment beta installed there is most likely NO compatible mod. Check the mods readme file or forum post to find out which version is supported.

I'm running version 1.15 or what ever the current one is. Do many mods not work with that or what. I am not running entrenchment beta though.

Actual version is 1.12...

About mod, some huge one are always at the 1.05 ... 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12 have come in December... time is needed for convert the huge mod...

Some mod work with 1.12 but the upgrade was made a few days or weeks ago... be sure to have the right version of the mod, the last update...

By example, i am partner of the 7DS mod... the final release, the 2.0 comming out soon is for the sins 1.05 ... next version, the 2.5 future relase will be for the sins 1.12... Why we don't upgrade directly ? The 2.0 have ask almost 1/2 work for a very big team... delay the release for a update when we are almost ready will be a fool choice... upgrade will take one or more month, but it will come... usually, with new content...

A other problem... usually, mod tools are released some week or month after... by example, the actual mod tools are 1.00... but the actual version is 1.12 !!! Without actual mod tools, we have not the reference file !!! Of course, we can make our own reference file but again, it ask time...

For us, modder, the good customer service of Stardock is really a plague... once enough customer ask something, they make it... these obligate us to update our mod... in some case, a newupdate appear before the devs of the mod have time to upgrade it...

??? Forge tools is a zip/rar archive... you cannot run it, you need to extract it... inside, you have all the reference data in text format, the sins_developer.exe who is a great debug tool ( copy it to your main sins folder and use it to start the game )... you will find some basic tutorial in pdf format... command line executable for convert data between binary format and text format, and for convert xsi to mesh format...

If you have try one of the command line utilities, it will not work by clicking it on the desktop... you need to use a dos windows, type the name of the application and add the needed parameter... they have no gui...
