Entrenchment epic failure

Just finished downloading entrenchment, and what do you know, it doesn't work! And on two fronts!

Front 1: I Can't fix the registration: When I try to put in my email and register the game I get a message saying: Invalid Email or registration. It's BRAND NEW! The email's good, I actually tried two of my email's in case it was a wierd glitch.

Front 2: When I launch the game it doesn't even load!!! After a few seconds of nothing after launching the game from impulse I get a message saying: Cannot find the sdactivate file do you want to create a new file?   Then a message pops up saying could not run Activate.exe

Can anyone please help me?

Both could be related or not related at all.

1) Use the lookup at www.stardock.com/support to get your serial number emailed to you.  This will verify that you are using the correct email address and also allow you to try and manually register the product.  Try manually registering the product and/or verifying that the registration number is showing the correct number in Impulse.

2) Please make sure that you don't have any anti-virus or spyware apps that are mistakenly blocking Impulse.

Do you have any other products installed through Impulse, or is this the only one?

How was Sins installed?  Was it through Impulse or as a stand alone install (ie: boxed version)?

What version of Windows are you running, and what version of Impulse do you have installed?

I'm about to leave town, but I will alert others to watch for your response.

1. Thanks

2. Nope, all I have is AVG free and it hasn't said anything, thanks for the idea though.

3. I got sins boxed, install was good but i had issues registering it for some reason, support was great though. I have Vista Basic on a custom gaming system I built myself. Impulse is the newest availible.

Thanks again, I'm a major fan of Sins and hope I can get Entrenchment up soon.

Uh oh, just did a product look up and Entrenchment wasn't on there... Ikes...

That reminds me. In order to purchase Entrenchment I used abother person's Paypal, and right after that person put it in it took forever to go to the next page (maybe 2 min plus, and I'm on brodband) after it came up I got an error message from impulse saying that had been an error and I had to restart. After it loaded back up the download started and went down without any problems. At the end of the install I got a popup message from impulse asking for a valid email.

Again thanks.

Ok, so the serial was registered under your friend's email account most likely.  Can you please email [email protected] to have them move your registration under your account?

Currently our system uses the PayPal email account because that is the best known email for the purchase from a security perspective.  In the near future we are going to be validating that against Impulse information to make sure they match to avoid this issue.

Oh ****, looks like I can't play regular Sins now either, I get the "Could not run Activate.exe error. ****! Grr. Not sure if this is majorly important but in Impulse Sins comes up as one icon and Entrenchment another, and for some reason it is using a TG.NET icon... **** Any more ideas, Please?

Thanks oh so much,

I've noticed with Entrenchment that it has some type of "product activation" in it.  I use a shared drive for Vista and XP to keep my install space used to a minimum between OSes, I updated in Vista, and when I went to XP SINS was complaining about not being activated until I went into impulse and redownloaded the whole deal.

As I understand it, SINS didn't have activation in it before.... Is this going to be part of the retail release of entrenchment??

Sometimes it takes a bit - they have to verify everything so be patient - I know it sucks :(

I uninstalled entrenchment the day the server went poof so not only could i not roll bac kto 1.12 I couldnt play entrencment either - very frustrating.

I ended up reinstalling off the CD and doing 1.05 just so I could play lol

I'd re-install Sins if I weren't so worried about habing to redownload Entrenchment.

On another note still nothing from Support... And I'm pushing 98 hours... I really hope I get somthing tomorrow from them.

Well just now out of desperation I tried to register using the email of the paypal account. It registered but I still get the same activate.exe error...

*Sigh, will this ever end
