Question regarding older mods

I last played under 1.03, and traditionally used Sins Plus and LazySumo's minimal UI mod. It looks like both of these have fallen out of pace with game updates, is that correct? Any new equivalents that are up to date? I'm not looking for any huge game changes (I see the mod that has an updated Sins Plus but also adds new races and tons of other stuff), just something like Sins Plus that adds a bit more diversity to things.

Thanks,

Vin

Also, is the AI moddable? If so, has it been?

If you check the original Sins Plus thread, just that mod was updated to work with 1.12. Can't speak for the Minimal UI mod, but I doubt it.

The AI isn't moddable and never has been, however it's been steadily improving. The 1.12 AI should definitely be better than 1.03, and so far the Entrenchment AI seems better still.

I think that Solar Sins from the 7DS team is what you need...

  • Solar Sins 2.0 ( for sins 1.05 ) with the following feature : 11 New Planets ( 8 from Sins Plus ); 6 SYSTEM stars, including a white star and a Black Hole, and each star has alternate colors and textures; 5 Colonizable Stars - Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, White (these are rare, with lots of resources); 2 fully funtional Black Holes, and yes, they will "eat" your ships! ; New skybox backgrounds, including deepspace and matching nebulaes to go with the color of the stars - part of Sins Enhanced; Weapon Graphics by Bailknight, WLD, and DANMAN. Graphics are on par with lower end systems. A HIGH END version will be coming soon!

All races and gameplay same as "vanilla", as this is just a graphical and planatary body mod.

Download link to the official version Solar Sins 2.0 for sins 1.05 and to the non official version for sins 1.1 can be found at the 7DS Wiki

That looks excellent, thanks Thousin.

Annatar: I thought it explicitly said it wasn't updated for the current version, perhaps I'm confused. I'll have another look, thanks for your help.

Well, the 1.12 conversion was made by someone else, the original mod creator (Uzii) is long gone. So the OP may not be updated, but I do remember a link to the 1.12 version posted in the thread.

OK, I probably just missed it (twice, it's been that kind of week). Thanks!

Pasting links from that thread :)

Here is the SinsPlus Bailknight mod combo.

It works perfect!

Enjoy

Here is Uzii's updated Sins Plus file for 1.1:  http://files.filefront.com/Sins+Plus+v13a+for+117z/;12467967;/fileinfo.html

All credit goes to Uzii.

Can't speak for how well these conversions and the Sins Plus + Bailknight's merge run since I don't use Sins Plus, but there you go :)

Before Uzii was gone, he have give everything to Danman... And Danman have continue with it, add more material...

Solar Sins, is mainly the Uzii mod with few more rogue sun, black hole, etc... and some other basic mods... it is the base of 7DS... Soon, 7DS 2.0 will be released for 1.05 ... The 7DS 2.5 will be the 2.0 for 1.12 ... Sure that in the same time, Solar Sins will be updated to the 2.5 too, maybe with new space object...

Yes, conversion are made by other... but conversion of the old sins plus don't give you all the new planet or planet bonus.... conversion of solar sins are good, they spare us some work... and have all the content for now...

But if you'd read the OP, you'd see he pretty specifically said he just wants the original Sins Plus updated to 1.1 ;)

I found them on my third check (yeesh) but thanks for your trouble. Is the Bailknight + Sins combo link dead for you? It takes me to a filefront download page but when I hit "download" I get dumped back to the filefront homepage rather than getting a file.

I went ahead and grabbed both, no harm trying new things. :D

I don't even get to the download, clicking the link just takes me to the front page.
