How do I create the size I want?

Can't create 256x256 icons, only beable to create 96x96

First time visiting the forums here, hi all.

I have Icon Devlp. 2.0.0.0 and I can't seem to make the icon size I want. Ideally I want to make 256x256 icons but can't, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

The only size I can make is 96x96, and another issue I have two images that were near to same size (1200x1200) that I created icons from and one is able to be viewed in Extra Large view and the another stays at the Large view (VistaUlt.), both icons are 96X96. I'm noticing the more I play with this program the more I encounter irregularities. If I just click "Make Icon with Icon Delveloper", then click ok (256, 96, 48, 32, & 16 are all clicked all bits are checked except 4bit and the others are not) all I get is 96x96 icons. Then I tried to edit one of my pictures to be square and the icon wouldn't show in X-large, then I tried not editing it and it did show in X-large. Then I had to edit it cause it was longated and cropped it using Windows Photo Gallery (which allows you to crop square) and that also worked. But still only beable to create 96x96 icons. Nothing seems to be consistant.

I tried saving by clicking the first image choice at the top left side (256x256 - 32-bit) which is the way I have always done it, that always produces 96x96, I also tried saving "save as" and created the batch. Also tried using Batch Proccessing> Create Icon from Image, that made no difference.

Side note: when I created the batch it still made a 96X96 but the icon I had problems viewing in X-large through Vista, did show up Xlrg (as "A Icon") but wouldn't when I tried to use it to customize a folder. end note.

So how do I make 256x256 icons?

Why am I getting icons showing fairly small even as a 96x96 when other 96x96 show just fine in X-large view option?

I know this is a bit long but I wanted to be through for best possible solution, I thank you for your assistance in advance.

if the only size you want is 256x256 the after you right click and choose create > pick you sizes (if you pick 'vista' that will be fine since 256x256 is in there) then after you click okay and the other window comes up with the various size formats on the left = either click, shift+click or ctrl+click the highlight the sizes you don't want, then click on remove in the tool bar - click okay when you're asked if you want to remove those formats

then you'll have just the one size on the left = then highlight and click save as

Ok Bichur, but doesn't work. When I do that I end up with a small image without demensions in the properties. I first removed all the other sizes and bits, and that only made a small image that wont display as a large view, then I tried to keep to the three 256x256 bits, no change only a larger file size.

I was able to get the demesions to show when you mouse over after adding other sizes to the save. But still no 256x256!!! What is wrong??

Also, do you know how do I update this program or is there a update.
