OK three of us at diferent locations have the same problem with Impulse updating.  It says preparing to update for a long time then returns with an error message "Problem beginning download - Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Sounds like a server issue.

The server hardware died today.  We are moving it to a new server (along with other functions).  The following will be down for a few hours:

1) Serial Generation

2) Serial activation

3) News

4) GC Metaverse

Thank you for your patience.

Poor Stardock, that means working Chrismas eve, or having people who get the game for Christmas not be able to use Impulse; not a very merry choice. . .

Check the forum notice up top. No ETA now, but within 48 hours.

See, this year, due to the economic downturn, Santa had to outsource some of his routes to Murphy, and regretfully, SD is on one of the outsourced routes.. X(

"On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, nothing cos of the bad economy.."

Seriously: to the SD guys working on this - Sorry it had to be this couple of days, but keep it up, your efforts are appreciated!

The Stardock root database server had a hardware crash on Christmas eve. The DB admins are working on restoring it but some services will be affected including customer database updating, software updating and downloading and other services.  We do not currently have an ETA to solve due to limited personnel being available on Christmas eve / Christmas day but it should be rectified within the next 48 hours.

LOL.  Christmas gift to myself will be late this year.

Wish I'd have found this about three hours ago and saved all the hair pulling trying to figure out what the heck was going on.
