Started today - GUI question

Hello

I started today in single player mode and i have a question about this section under the resource screen.

I clicked on it and it dumped credits onto  the opposing player's avatar but i cannot subtract it. Sometimes it flashes up with my avatar and another amount.

besides removing money from me - what does it mean ?

is there somewhere a basic GUI explanation anywhere?

you are paying the pirats to attack one of the other players.

and afaik you get most explained if you do the tutorials.

This section is really just a shortcut for bounty placement on other players. You can turn it off in the menu options or access a more detailed screen by clicking on the pirate logo at the top center of your screen. :)

It's quite useful once i remember it's there.  i'm soo used to using the hotkeys that were changed in 1.1 so i had to change them back...

one more question hideous....are those the only two planets you own in the game at that point and time?  cuz if so, you have an awful lot of defense that early on...just thought i'd throw that out there.... :D

Thanks - this was my second game - i grew way too slowly on the first game and the pirates and AI smashed me.

I think i got too defensive on this game as I learnt the controls.

This game reminds me of MOO1 and MOO2 I use to play in the mid 90's.

I played a game online and was told the same thing - I am old and slow :)

Little hint - turrets are useless as they can be circumvented - repair bays, hangers, PJIs and of course a fleet are much better options for defending :)

But the AIs don't circumvent them, so it's effective against AIs. I know they saved my ass plenty of times.

Fighters/bombers can get a pass at them before they get close to your infra/planet!!!!
