Problem skinning nav buttons for xp in SKS6

I'm getting a funky look

I have finished my WB that I have been working on for about a month and a half; except that the navigation buttons have a black background when the xp substyle is applied (see screenshot below).

I used SKS6 exclusively. I skinned Vista first, then created an xp substyle.

Any help or input? I'm trying to get this finished for the GUI's...

Try checking off "pre multiplied alpha" for the background image in both locations.. IE Navigational arrows background and Navigation arrows background... There are 2 locations for that image in SKS6.

If all else fails, email me the skin and I'll find the problem easy enough. :) craig at cdoman dot com.

Thanks, Craig! I tried it but have no way to test at the moment. I sent you an e-mail.

another little trick, put one pixel in one of the corners and fade it so you can almost not see it..for some reason sk6 only likes transparency if it has one pixel on it somewhere, no pixels and it goes black like that.  from my experience this works for me.

I already tried that. I am really about to call it a corrupted substyle but not just yet.

I think its got something to do with working backwards from Vista to XP, could be wrong I suppose but Ive seen at least one other made in the same order with the same problem.

It is also doing that on 3 icons in the lower toolbar (home, something, and something) :P

I lost access to my XP machine for a bit.

I believe it to be a corrupt file. I don't know of any way to fix it.

I have had some odd things happen going from Vista to XP but nothing a little hair pulling couldn't fix. This problem is different.

The nav buttons and background work fine in IE7 on XP but they go black in windows explorer. The icons are black on 3 of the toolbar icons on XP but the other icons are fine. I have replaced images, added pixels, nothing works. >:(

Crap. I might just have to call it a Vista skin and work on xp later. >:(

I know I'm inexperienced at this and all, but I've come to the same conclusion as vStyler. For now I'm going to call this a Vista skin. I'll probably put together an xp version some time later.

Thanks all for your help and input! Pizza's on me! :pizza:
