Middle Class Tax Cut

Just as Bill Clinton went back on his promise to lower middle class tax, Obama, too, will find that such a commitment would be reckless under this economic stress. Instead the equivalent should go directly to states not to meet their budgets but rather to put people to work through stimulus to small businesses and infrastructure needs. As for the wealthy above 250K and to stem the panic of investors he should put in effect a 1% surtax for the 2010 tax form, then let the Bush tax cut run out in 2011.

Ugh!  Bad all the way around.  The money should not be given to the states.  If no tax cut is forthcoming (and the very proposal indicates that at least some on his staff do believe that tax cuts work), use it to pay for the misbegotten bailouts already promised!  And dont promise any more!

But if you really want a depression, go ahead and soak the rich.  That will dry up the capital to create jobs and thereby prolong the recession and perhaps return us to the 1930s once again.

Yeah, like the rich are going to come through, eh? Why have they been on the sidelines--what the hell are they waiting for?

2012 - when Obama gets voted out.

Look at it this way.  If I tell you I am going to rob you, beat you and demonize you (and assuming you are semi intelligent), are you going to say "Yea!  Do it some more!"?

WHat has Obama been doing for the past year?

If it's so patriotic to pay more taxes why didn't Obama or Biden write checks to the government for more than they owed in taxes?  There is no law that prevents you from just sending in money to the government so if giving the government money is the patriotic thing to do then why don't Obama and Biden lead by example?

El Dude, you're asking the guy that wouldn't put his hand over his heart for the national anthem to be patriotic? Come on now, that would be uncharacteristic of him.

I'm just asking the guy to put up or shut up.  If he is going to lecture people on what it is to be patriotic then he should lead by example. If he isn't willing to contribute more to the federal government than he shouldn't be asking others to do just that.

He carried enough of it.  For the past year, by both Obama and Hillary, we have been treated to screeds of the evil rich.

I am surprised they are giving him the time of day.

By jove!  I think you got it!  Obama and Biden want only PATRIOTIC people to pay more.  They refuse to, so I guess we dont have to look at lapel pins - actions speak louder than words!

Perhaps a donation to the treasury of a patriotic portion of the 750mil he raised? Wishful indeed; Hillary broke her ass for him like no other politician campaigned yet is he contributing to her debt?

Obama is barred by campaign finance laws to use that money that he raised for anything other than expenses related to his campaign for office (which does include his inauguration I believe), or for future campaigns.  He can't use it to "donate" to the national debt or to help pay down Hilary's campaign debt.
