Help Please, data differs from host

fresh install, updated with impulse

from Sins Forums

i just install sins and had it updated to 1.11.038 with impulse, it appears to be the same as others, comparing byte size for files, but it seems that i keep getting a message saying my game's data differs from host, and it seems that others can not see me while waiting to start a game.

already tried restarting game and computer and tried verifying install using impulse, do not know what else to do.

Do you have any mods? Are you sure the exe shortcut you are running is actually pointing to the latest exe?

fresh install, so no mods, tried using impulse to start, sins launcher, and launching it from install directory.

only see one "Sins of a Solar Empire.exe" which is at C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire

size 3.68 MB (3,867,952 bytes)

size on disk 3.69 MB (3,870,720 bytes)

 

size of directory is 1.49 GB (1,609,128,791 bytes)

Can you try the following so we can get more information about your install:
1. start->run->cmd
2. cd C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\
3. type "dir /s *.* > sins.txt
4. send sins.txt to [email protected]

I think I may know what his problem is, this has happaned to me. I need to know your ICO id name that you use character for character.

Thanks for the email. For some reason, Impulse didn't delete the following files:

Galaxy\Huge Random Map.galaxy
Galaxy\Large Random Map.galaxy
GameInfo\BuffBoostResourceExtractionTarget.entity

Just delete these manually and you should be fine.

If this ever happens to anyone else and you don't want to wait for support to respond you can ask a friend who's version of Sins works to generate the same sins.txt as you. Then you can compare them using something like BeyondCompare to see what is different.
