Subject: Mom update
Mom enjoyed her visit with Del’s family and talked about the good time seeing everyone. She has increasing difficulty remembering words for things she wants to describe or express. She helped with dinner here on Sabbath and rolled up some crescent rolls but could not get it right even with several demos and some in different stages to show how to do it. I just fixed them up a little before baking and they were fine. We had 8 people for dinner. Since it was the beginning of the storm we sat around the living room and woodstove and watched a video. There was a big seal in the bay not far from our land that Dick and Scott checked out.
I think I’ll get Mom the afternoon of the 24th and she can stay overnite for Christmas. I am working Christmas day 8-6 but should be done earlier. We’ll have a special dinner Christmas Eve. Last year we had a special Christmas eve meal and then it stormed Christmas day so Marcia and Shana didn’t make it back. Bay Square has a special dinner next Tues, Dec 16, and I’ve arranged to get off work early to go to it.
I’ll ask her about the walkman and hopefully she still has it. I often have to hunt for things in her room that she says she doesn’t have. They enjoy her at Bay Square because she is so outgoing and pleasant. She appreciates most everything and participates in a lot of activities. I bought her a designer type gray winter hat that is very cute and some new gloves. She’s trying to figure out how to mend her present gloves!
More people quit working at my present job so they’ve asked all of us to work more. I haven’t had much free time to do anything but am still trying to speculate on a little wholesale bakery business with whole grain breads made with fresh ground flours.
