Thanks for your help jmurph...Funny thing is I double checked my order today and Dell had F***** it up? It was a stripped down model of this one...Luckily I caught it in time and my correct order will be shipping on the 15th...Will let you know how it goes!

Man! And I was excited about my new laptop! :'(

I'll be getting a Dell XPS Core 2 Duo 2.5 Ghz, 4GB DDR2, 320 GB HD, running Vista Ultimate x32. Very similar to my desktop.

It's replacing a 2-year-old Dell Inspiron that was built to run xp. It runs Vista fine, but as almost all of my software now demands more, it's time to move on up.

By the way, Skinhit, if you'll give me your order number, I'd be glad to check up on it for you! *_*

Who am I, Zubaz?

Nope, but it's obvious that either you've been hanging around him a little too much, or that Zub's conspiracy to rewrite the dictionary is finally bearing fruit. :-"

Those specs are waaaay better than mine and I'm running Vista with no issues. Get lots of sleep the day before it arrives...'cause you'll be too busy having fun when it does!

That's not bad, Jack, not for Vista...  I have usually around that myself, and it's not a problem.  However, if you want to cut them back, try TweakVista and go into the 'Services' section, there are a few options there to choose from.

Mind you, with a rig like that I don't think you're going to have issues with those sevices eating up your resources and slowing things down.

Anyhow, go play with your new toy and have fun. :)

I have 57 processes running

That's quite good out of the box.About the same as the Home Premium rig I used last month..Mine had 73-78 with Home Basic:maybe: I trimmed them down to 61 with all SD apps unloaded(but what fun is that),65 average. HP/MS thought I needed all sorts of things running that I'll never use.

Terrific specs,wish mine had those.

Wow, sounds like simpler transition than mine! Congrats! |-)

I had to wrestle alligators for a day or two.

Yep...that's a nice rig. With that you can move up to editing Po's head into some great X-rated videos.  :-"

UAC

Whats that?

You'll find out soon enough.

Something that you'll be turning off the first day you use Vista. After the third time you click that you really, really, really want to run a program.
