[Elemental] Forum background

Is this pissing anyone else off?  It's not offensive, per se, but it's exactly the wrong shade.  Neither white nor black text shows up comfortably on it, and smaller black text can even blur into unreadability, while smaller white text is just plain awful.  Do we need to start using colors in all our posts here, or will there perhaps be some kind of change?

Per GW's excuse, we don't appear to have a forum issues section here-or at the very least it's not visible.  And this is, to my knowledge, only an issue on this site-I haven't had a problem with the GCII or SoaSE forum background colors personally, although your mileage may vary.

Besides, I screwed that up by giving Spartan karma on the "wrong" site.

Karma is an naturally renewable thing so please don’t feel like there is any social demand to conserve it. Think of it this way, why not use it? You won't lose it!

If you know some CSS, another option is user stylesheets. You can apply them in both IE and firefox. There is also an addon for firefox that makes it easier.

Well, since my name came up in the OP, I feel obliged to say I really like the Elemental colors as they are. I'm an aging-eyed geezer, read with the page zoomed up anyway, and having it any darker would hurt me, not help. (Haven't seen white anywhere, and would think it should be blocked by the site skin.)

Re cross-site karma, I do wish that it was either completely global or completly site-linked. The hybrid thing can make a relative 'newbie' to Elemental seem like an old pro if he or she has scored karma in sprawl categories. The "here here and jerk there" thing seems like a swell answer...for a politician ;)

Don't you love it how you make one suggestion, everyone bashes it, you make another, and everyone ignores it?

Would it be possible to have skin selections for the various forums, based on the skins/backgrounds that the sites already have?  I'd be perfectly happy if I could use GC2's white-on-black everywhere.

@CobraA1

Thank you, and I'll look into that, but I didn't really want to have to mess with much of anything.  *sigh*

And, for what it's worth, I was unaware that I'm the only person on the planet who has problems with the Elemental forum color scheme.

Why is karma count the only thing that isn't global? So you can be a jerk here and a hero there and have karma accordingly.
But what does an hero count as?

Besides, I screwed that up by giving Spartan karma on the "wrong" site.

I only really hang around here, so you're always free to give *me* karma.

To be honnest I just hate the white on black kind of forums (like in the supcom forums). My eyes bleed after five minutes of reading.

Anyway, on topic : you should send a PM to frogboy or Kryo. You would have better results.

White on black is my favorite!

Actually, I think blue on black might be preferable, but from the SD sites I've seen, I definitely lean towards GC2's white on black.

I've never been to the SupCom forums, though, so I don't know how good or bad their implementation is.

I honestly doubt Brad's going to be the guy to talk to about the forums, and I'm not sure he'd have time, anyway, but I'll give Kryo a shot and hope he can at least direct me in the right direction/forward the message to the right person.  (SINCE ZUBAZ WON'T HELP.  It's okay, though, I still love you.)

I'm not even sure he has the authority, but in any case I haven't given anyone reason to ban me, so I'm not worried either way.

EDIT: I know.

I may not have the authority, but I have the ability  ;)

In any case . . we're good.  :)

also [email protected] will get feedback to the right folks.  They may not do anything with it but they will get it.
