Windows 7 Bugs

Fences

I loaded fences through impulse and the program is there and when I try and open it it tells me that "Fences does not appear

to be loaded. You may need to reinstall fences." Has anyone else had this problem?

Help Anyone? When I open the fences icon the it comes with how to configure fences.. Then I click open fences settings and thats wehn the error message appears  "Fences does not appear to be loaded. You may need to reinstall fences."  Then it goes the the main page where you adjust all the settings for fences. Now when I right click and drag it over the icons I want to put in a fence the option is not there to select to create a fence. I already went to the main .exe file a ran a admin and still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would guess that right now it is not compatible with Windows 7.

There have been some changes to explorer which I know can cause problems like this.  I am sure Jeff will be looking at it once he gets a chance, but I also suspect that making it work flawlessly on Windows Vista and XP would be a higher priority than Windows 7 support right now as Windows 7 may change again before final release.

not surprised your having trouble with fences on windows 7, i would assume that stardock would wait for an official release before they start to worry about that. for now they would be concentrating more on XP and Vista, seeing as they are the OS' that people are going to be using.

That's cool just wondering if there was anyone else that was mabye using Windows 7 and doing testing that might have ran into this problem. In the future I see alot of ppl finally converting from xp to Windows 7 and just skipping Vista because of the bad rap it got. Windows 7 has the best of both worlds and I do have to say I am very impressed with this version of the OS.

The stardock programs with Windows 7 just put it over the top and I think the demand will be huge for all of these programs.

Yeah, because you don't know how much I cherish starting to learn the skinning in's and out's of ANOTHER OS while about 75% of everyone hasn't even got the LAST OS

If you have ever went to Best Buy and played with a MAC and was like dam that is so easy to use to bad my Win programs won't convert eaiser or I would buy it. Windows 7 and Stardock make it like that "Easy". And just an FYI there is no learning curve on Windows 7 it just works like a MAC. FYI I own a MAC also.

Yeah I have the same problem. Pretty much you install Fences and it works fine. Then once you restart the computer or turn it off and then back on, it does not show any icons when it starts. You try to open fences from Program Files and it says that error ""Fences does not appear to be loaded. You may need to reinstall fences."

I just uninstalled it and the icons come back on

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but same issue. From then on nothing I did helped getting Fences back on

I also did not find any reg keys that I could remove.

UPDATE! I've put the Windows 7 capable version of Fences up on Impulse as a "beta"... make sure you have "Show pre-release versions" checked in Impulse and check it out, there should be a v0.96 version available. Let me know how it goes!
