Systray???

Hi,
I have been told to get rid off Stardock Central and use Impulse instead.
So that's what I did. Then I installed my DesktopX copy and it runs ok with my themes
except that there is no more a Systray object available anywhere...

Even if I follow all examples and forums information about creating a Systray object
it's not there, it doesn't work. There is no such thing as a Systray in DesktopX.
My version is 3-50-060 and I really need a Systray in order to be able to work.

The MCP utility to allow this is installed but this doesn't change a thing.
Any help? Any clue?

Thanks

Steve

There seems to be a bug in the later versions of DX. Running in XP I have had success by downloading an older DXtheme that has a system tray in the skin and export it as an object into a folder of your choice and then import it into your skin. This method has always worked for me in XP but only a few times in vista

Mhhhh...

My new machine came with Vista Business 32bit.

I used my former DXTheme, which contained a Systray object, but here it's gone. Doesn't exist at all.

BUMP.

Has this been fixed? Just tried Murex's solution and it didn't work either.

Nope. Systray's no longer available, even on Vista.

Well...... that's pretty crappy!! I work from the systray a lot! what's the point in making DX themes that change the whole interface and hide the taskbar if i can't have something as simple as a system tray???

/me skulks away, muttering obscenities........ B[]
