The Riftwar Cycle???

Is it just me or are there similarities between the lore of this game and that of The Riftwar Cycle right after the Chaos Wars? Then again there is so much fantasy its nearly impossible to create a totaly original universe; then again considering the name of the company and some of their previous easter eggs...

 

As an aside, I am considering doing a Riftwar Cycle mod if time allows after release...

It hit me in the Galactic Civ 2 campaign when I saw a planet named Midkemia and another one named Kelewan.

Why do I feel like I just got a joke that's been right in front of my nose for... about 5 years now? 

So long as we don't have any planets in GalCiv that are named "Jimmy the Hand", I think we'll be OK.:zoomba:

Just don't give them any ideas for hero names -- I'd rather not have Pug the Wizard helping Arutha the Swordsman ravage my lands, while Jimmy the Hand steals all my precious artifacts!  :D

LOL, I wouldn't put it past them. If they did something like that I would think it would be with the names of the dragons. The other stuff is too obvious...
